I've just got my car back on the road so I thought I'd stick in an update with the latest mods!

Brief history: Bought it in 2011 as a completely standard NA in Rabiata Red. Almost immediately fitted a 2.5" 2bular exhaust and Supercharger in Jan 2012. Had a 'mishap' at Spa which the insurance declined to repair so fixed it myself which I didn't get round to for a few months. Had it back together in time for the National at Croft last year, didn't like the colour match on the new paint so immediately took it apart again. Started a number of mods but then had other issues so didn't get round to finishing it until now. Boring bit over.

Firstly, it's no longer red. I was persuaded to put a bit more effort into the prep and change the colour to...

Lotus Burnt Orange. It really was a lot of work but I'm very pleased with the result. I am fortunate to have a mate to help me with the painting and access to half decent paint booth.

Before anyone says it, yes, I do have black TDs for it but they have borderline 888s on them so I put the silver ones with less worn tyres on for the MOT. Also, yes, the ride height was too high which is now sorted after a visit to BOT. :D

As for the mods, you may notice the front now sports brake cooling ducts and Hella Xenon driving lamps lurking behind the grills. I also upgraded to EP lightweight discs, which are nearly 2kg lighter each, together with Pagid RS42 pads.

The suspension I refreshed before Croft with powder coated wishbones and a 1" anti roll bar but the Nitrons hadn't arrived in time so they're new.

With the interior, I took out the round dash vents and put in slot vents instead (from a Mitsubishi IIRC). Gone too is the dash divot and then got it flocked in black. No more annoying reflections in the screen.

I also got the gear change cover and door triangles flocked to match. The door cards and dash plates are painted the same colour as the body but finished with a matt lacquer.

That'll do for the moment. I'll post about more mods later.

The usual problem - needed clam repair/replacement - didn't want to pay for it so paid out rather than repair. I can post pics of my repairs if you're interested.

I think the windscreen surround and front V need to be a contrasting colour but apart from that I really like it. That's at least three people with those dash vents now, did you get the idea for them from me? Love the sharp line you've cut along the front and the flocking, really suits the car.

use them 2 vents to run 2 small rads as the chargecoolers, rather than having them sandwiched together.

Probably! LOL I certainly looked for Mitsubishi slot vents on eBay because I saw that someone else had used them successfully.

There is so much time gone into that dash. Filling and sanding. Filling and sanding.

I have no issues with my charge cooling :) The engine side of things is 'old school' - not Saab - not Harrop - i.e. just kinda works fine as is. :D

To be totally honest, I fitted the vents because I prefer the styling over the vestigial fog lamps. I then put in the brake ducts largely to justify having the vents! It's quite a cheap mod whereas putting in rads/oil coolers would not.

Other new mods include relocating the boot relays to the engine bay and electric boot release.

Both these things will allow for easier rear clam removal... which I seem to do a lot!

Lovely, that is the exact colour I wanted originally, but torn now between Renault liquid yellow. It'll probably just stay silver to be fair!

Do you have any high resolution pics elsewhere so I could get some up close and personal peeping on the go?

My ecu is also there, but gave it a little "roof", as the clam can drip water in near there.
