I had a couple of PMs and while they were lovely cars they each needed a little work doing, and I'm looking for something that's ready to go without any odd jobs etc.

So...I'm still looking for a car with cash waiting, Genuine buyer (we do exist!) simply looking for a good car.

If you fancy parting with your VXR for a good price, please send me a PM.

The car you're looking for doesn't exist. They all need jobs doing, even straight out of the factory.

If you really wanted one, you'd have bought one of the ones that came up. You might not see one again this year.

I reckon HH's troll radar is right again.... :)

Mine will be going on E-Bay this weekend (MOT dependent).....Although not a VXR it is a decent Stage 2 Turbo..........Black 05 model....With Carbon Wing And MMG diffuser...Gaz Gold suspension,Airbox Mods,Filter,Hard Pipes,TD Wheels 16f and17r with Yokohama ADO8R'S.....In the last Two Years It has had new Battery,Alternator,MAF sensor,02 Sensor,Rebuilt rear Shocks,Cam- Belt,Water Pump,it has had a full suspension tune by Simon who owns and competes for Chevron Motorsport in TimeAttack......it may not be to your taste as it is De-Badged and has the window frame wrapped Black..........It will come with a Full MOT and service.......

It does however have Stone chips and some wear to the normal Drivers Seat Bolster area......pm if interested......only selling due to Back probz,2nd House purchase, and  I need to replace my aging Pickup Truck.....something has to give.....PM me if interseted

Not a VXR gold horned unicorn, so won't be interested.

They do exist, as Theo found a stuffed one earlier this year, but with a missing rear end it may have been an unlisted Cat A/B.

25k sounds good.

Yep transmission takes it.....gearbox is weakest link in my opinion.....I run a seperate oil cooler for gearbox to help things last....seems to manage about 4 years before needing an overhaul. Obviously running paddle clutch, lightened flywheel and all balanced also helps life of parts.

I want a VXR220 because I love limited editions and I like the extra touches alcantara etc and have no inclanation to add these touches to a car that didnt come with them.

So if I made a limited edition version of the VX220, presumably you'd jump over hoops for it as it is limited to 1 edition? Bear in mind many/most VX220s are now modified at least a bit (if not a lot) by previous owners, so they are all pretty limited editions.

You could buy a standard VXT, spend £1500 on a couple of second hand parts and a remap and it would be identical to a VXR. However this seems to miss the key point that surely you should really be buying a drivers car like the VX220 for driving (as opposed to it being "limited").

It's worth remembering it's a machine with a dedicated function, so it's a bit of a shame to see men buying these cars as pieces of surrogate jewelery.

GL with the search anyway.

No offence meant Nev but a vxt made to look like a vxr will never actually be one, I think that's why the command a premium over the vxt, however I do take yr point about both being driving machines.

The VXR is a special car for sure. To be honest these days any VX220 thats in really good original condition is becoming very sought after. Anyone that keeps tabs on my stock you'll see I've been championing this cause for years now but I think finally at last the market is starting to come round. The one to watch IMO is still the 2.2. They are SO hard to find its just not even funny. My well documented 2 year search for a good one is testament to this. I couldnt even put a price on my car TBH its so perfect but without any hint of BS I would pitch it at well over any current Turbo on the market if I was to sell (which I would not) I think I would be punting off offers of even 17/18k thats how much belief I have in future values.

I went to see a 6k VXR recently unfortunately it was a bit like the one that cropped up last year bit of a resto project but they are out there. A 6k mint original VXR I would see at 25/26k retail now and I dont think we are too far away from seeing the very highest quality 2.2 or Turbo VX220s at 20k. A couple of the cars I had in last year at 16.5k I think would be up at 18/19k now. Just did a 14k tubby for 17.5 that was sold before hitting the shop and a very good 2.2 for 15k sold immediately both very clean cars right at the top end of whats available.  Virtually impossible to source but they are always the cars I get the biggest buzz from retailing.

Does that mean you will give me a decent price for my n/a when I sell it (have got an itch for an a/c Cobra, but need to drive one).     thumbsup
