Surely tho, correct me if I am wrong, I have never (touch wood) been involved in a total loss claim, but going on what people say on here that you negotiate with the insurance company on the value and if you provide sufficient evidence of similar cars selling for £xxxx price then they will up the offer to something similar.

I am a cheap skate when it comes to insurance and I've said it many times, I wouldn't bother with it unless it wasn't a legal requirement.  I like to gamble

Altho for £60 seems rather cheap considering I think book value for a NA VX is now roughly £3k

Ok I've just checked with ERS to make sure that they have all the details for Agreed value which I can now confirm they have. With previous brokers I got an acknowledgement letter that all was agreed but this isn't the case with HT. So if you want to make sure call ERS.

I might be being thick here, but who is ERS?

Both ERS and HT have very different approaches to accountability to what I'm used to. The only time we'll find out if all is OK is when a claim is made.

Going back to my previous statement about Agreed Value's I've looked over my new car insurance policy this year, it's now with Ageas Classic (yes the believe the VX is classic!) and a Agreed Value will cost me £25 if I so wish for it, not sure what else other than photo's I would need to provide but seems very cheap to get a agreed value!
