Yep Gianni. Jonnyboy is working on that for me at the moment. No additional premium for an agreed value.

Tried REIS Ken? Are you still on the standard brakes/pads? Brembo-tastic!

Tried REIS today Rob. Within a couple of questions they ended the call saying they couldn't compete. As an absolute minimum their policy would have been £276 and that was before we got into more detail and it didn't include breakdown cover. Mintex 1144 for a few years now. Standard(ish).

Have you tried Footman James?     They were very cheap on my Caterham, obviously not like for like but I was paying around £350 on the VX now down to £159 on the Caterham,

Cheers for the heads up James. Will give them a try. : thumbsup :

So I gave them a try:

£536.90!  They don't recognise (and you can't accumulate) NCB discount.  Premium also excludes trackdays.

So here's the updated list:

CCI - £500 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles)

1Answer - £371 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles).  But NCB not retained or accumulated.

Chris Knott - £338 (includes agreed value, or £300 without agreed value)

Adrian Flux - £321 (includes breakdown cover and personal accident cover, or £250 without breakdown or personal accident)

Henderson Taylor - £311 (includes trackday cover and 6,000 miles)

Not sure Ray.  There's no note in my notes that it includes breakdown.  Given they are so much more expensive than most others and that ClassicLine are over £120 cheaper and include European breakdown I didn't bother exploring any further with them.

When I was insured with them previously it was an additional £50 or something like that for Euro breakdown cover.

Thanks for the comments all. I've just had my renewal notice from ClassicLine. £250 including full UK and European Breakdown cover. On that basis I think I'll stay with ClassicLine. But hopefully this has highlighted another potentially competitive insurer for these cars.

Essentially the same price. I paid last year.

I've just got my renewal quote from Henderson Taylor through and it looks about the same as last year. However I need to go elsewhere so I don't lose my NCD

Hi, Mines come out at £108 this year..  With Saga through confused.com Me and Mrs T, both over 60.  5,000 miles, no mods, no track days, not garaged. £100 total excess. declared storm damage and a windscreen to the Subaru 3 years ago. with 9+ years ncd   Think I'm in the sweetspot between a boy racer and a doddery pensioner

Just out of interest, Saga gave me a very good insurance quotation for my ski boat last year, certainly looks like they like us boring old farts!

HT have "parked" my 7 years NCB so i don't loose it. And my daily has 10+ years NCB. Always stuck me as stupid that you end up running seperate NCB on each and every car. I'm paying about £550. I did shop around and they were the cheapest, hopefully it will go down next year. Just about the right side of 40. Garaged, huge list of mods declared at stage 4, no at fault accidents, i had a car written off 5 months ago which was recovered from other insurer, agreed value at 23k, 5 track days.

Just renewed mine too, bog standard 2001 na, 5k a year for £187.  What I need to do though is start looking at agreed valuations as some of the quotes i got had a very low value for the car.

I renewed my insurance today. 33 year old male Norfolk postcode 14 years license 9 NCB 2000 X Reg NA 4K miles, SDP only ClassicLine wanted £385 Henderson Taylor wanted £381 Footman James wanted either £281 or £301 or £302 Footman James, who were CCI sent two renewals through on the same day. I called up so they clarified and was presented with a third quote, all getting more expensive as we went along. It appears to be a very weird company, it's a shame as CCI seemed knowledgable and friendly. Footman James appear to be divs. The young girl did successfully managed to get my renewal for the "VX-two-hundred-and-twenty"...... I kid you not!! Please god don't let me have to claim from this lot, the phone area code was Dudley, enough said.
