Need a seat for racing that holds a skinny bastard in place. Pretty sure I'm loosing 20 minutes a lap because I'm sliding around in my current one.

Anyone of the slim build got experience in one that holds you in place?

That Cobra (I think?) seat that Mike had for Time Attack was super skinny, high sided and also FiA certified. Think it fitted okay, as long as you didn't want two matching seats. Might be a good place to start.

It certainly made me feel ill, just looking at it.

This lot seem to have the biggest range of seats to try. Might be worth stopping off on the way home one day (call in advance though).

Or just make foam insert for what you have, for the perfect fit.

Bloody kind offer! I'll see how funding goes though before I take you up on it as my own seat would be ideal!

Seems there are plenty of options but I need to sit in some really. I'll speak to mike about his as we are similar ish size

This, plus I have some spare foam mix if you want to give it a shot.

How high up the back and sides does the foam mould?

I want a stronger and lighter seat regardless so the better fitting it is originally the less foam I'd have to use.

You don't need a base seat, the foam has no significant mass and the harness will hold you and the seat in. That's how I uderstand it. Does mean only you can really drive unless you make an insert for someone else too. https://racinggenesi...ng-a-race-seat/

Correct, although you will need a bracket or sheet that ties to the headrest, scrutineers tend to pick up that.

I need a seat for the foam to go into though? And I rather not use the ones I currently have.

No you don't have to. you may need some form of back board up to the roll bar and a bridge over the hand brake/shifter. Put belt mounts in car and mask over, these will stop it sliding sideways when strapped in. When Happy with shape, tape up with gaffer tape. Or make a slim insert for your seat, you will need to reinforce with fibreglass because it will be thin. Very cheap and the safest type of seat.
