What paint/prep did you use on the binnacle and steering column surround? Mine needs some attention it's looking a bit crackled and worn.

I would say my interior is now finished, the seats, steering wheel, sill and outer door cards are courtesy of Ross Hogg-Robinson. Half leather seats as I hate sitting on leather in different weather extremes. All with red stitching to match. All I need to do now is sort out something new for my phone/sat nav and a nice interior rear view mirror. Sitting inside almost feels like a new car.

I must also note I sanded the bottom of the outer door cards so they would not rub against the padded sill covers.

I fitted this with bluetac for easy access. Best thing I've used to fit it so far.

This provides padding to prevent the inevitable seat belt damage. Last time I did the door cards they got dents within weeks.

These door cards where in bits when I got them, one was £15 the other was £20:

The £20 one was worse I think, must have been in 10 pieces.

And for the sake of this thread - even though I did this a few months ago, I have built a new engine loom, fitted a new SCS Delta 400 ecu with a map by SCS in Norwich following a breakdown at Cadwell park in Jan 2018 which lead to a 9ish hour recovery in the snow.

I also suffered from the occsional misfire following the new ECU, I've just fitted an NGK coil pack about 2 weeks ago and in around 2-300 miles I haven't had a misfire but I'm not holding my breath. However, I have replaced everything that could be causing a misfire besides a dodgy earth which I would think the new loom would sort. I'll wait 1000 miles before I would say it's definitely gone as the misfire was very rare, like once or twice per tank of fuel.

Also, I had all the padding removed out of the seats head restraint and 1inch or meduim-firm padding fitted in the seat back, the inflatable lumber works also.

It looks a bit funny but is as comfy as any car I've sat in and the removal of the head restraint padding should give my helmet more room on track days as the used to push my head forwards and cause me big back problems for weeks sometimes after a day on track. Didn't get that in the BMW or MR2 but I got in it in the VX before and after the BMW so I'm putting it down to the VX.
