Just done this and makes a big improvement, my seat has gone down by 1cm , though they are the motorsport seats so that may be a factor ! Only took 30 minutes too. The only small problem is it reducers the travel backwards but I have a couple of spare "joggles" so going to reduce them and relocate the holes in the runners.

result !

can the passenger and drivers seat be swapped ?

I would like to lower the seat also and since my seat position is the same as the passenger I thought I could try swapping

anyone tried this yet

I will give it a go

The seats can be swapped as they are not handed but the runners can't. You would also have to consider the lumber support pump.

For me this mod made my seating position worse. As it drops the front of the seat but leaves the rear at same height effectively reducing the back angle and forcing you to sit more upright. Plus my short wife couldn't drive anymore due to seat won't go as far forward. Car is back to standard again.

Only taken my 10 years to do this. Found this better than my sector 111 seat lowering rails

Do you have a picture of this Mark?

I'm pretty sure Dave's done this mod to my new car as the seats really low at the front and he was 6'5..

I'm not and want the rake back. I'm sure my old one had some thick washer thing under the front mounts

I'm surprised nobody has developed a lowering bracket for the seat and commercially started selling.

The rear seat to rail bracket can be lowered by about 8mm which further reclines and lowers the seat. It drops your h point and reclines you quite noticeably.

Previously I couldn't wear a helmet under my roof (6ft 3) but now can easily.

Changing the front bracket lowers the front of the seat obviously, but the rear remains fixed. This lowers your h point slightly, but causes you to sit more upright and severely limits the slide function.

Did OP ever do a FE analysis on this part?
I'd love to see that piece of overengineering.

I'm not sneering here- I used to CFD MGF throttle bodies and inlet manifolds.
