I get this all the time. I get spot checked for power and weight often, far more than other cars in my series. I was once weighed and power tested after quali and race at brands. I've had complaints lodged with the clerk from other drivers that I'm under weight or over powered quite a few times. You know you're right as I always do and am so just take it as a compliment. Worry when they're not moaning.Questions and moans have already started about how much power I'm running so I'm leaving the bbq. I don't think the guy liked me telling him maybe he should just drive faster 😂

Did you ask if you really wanted to humiliate him, you'd add a k&n panel filter

Great result!
We need a proper race report! What was the weather like in the end? Wet? Any interesting tussles? How was the transition from track day to race day....?
A picture from turn 1
It was very wet for the whole race and turn 2 seemed to have some rivers running across it at one point.
Just firing up the laptop now so I can type easier.

He qualified 31st out of 31 in a car a class above yours He wants to pay more attention to himself rather than you.

Well done Mark, you should be very proud of what you have achieved in such a short space of time.

Friday. Got there about 4pm, unloaded the car and helped set up the awnings for the briefing room and, more importantly, the hog roast. Took the car down to scrutineering at about 7 and signed on and got the car scruitineered. All went smoothly and I didn't have to change anything. Saturday. Got up to a very wet morning and headed back to sign on to hire a transponder and then had a briefing as it was the first time I'd raced there. Then met Mark and put his wet wheels on. Drivers briefing was 10am and then headed to get ready for quali. Turned the rain light on in the assembly area but noticed as I drive to the pit lane the indicator light had gone off. Out into quali, wet, wet and a little bit wet. Stuck in a line of cars at first so took a few laps to make my way past them, took a little getting used to overtaking any side and 4 eyes needed in the corners. Made sure I got the 3 compulsory laps in the bag then started pushing a bit, caught a civic by the end which was so quick in a straight line that even if I backed off to get a better line through the corner I still couldn't get passed him on the straight. Still managed to get P3 but P2 or even P1 should have been possible, especially as I did a 3 seconds faster lap than that in lap 2 of the race. After that we had to sort the rain light. The fuse had blown, so replaced that and the LEDs on the light started exploding. Mark, the godsend that he is, drove around to about 3 different shops to buy a new light and ended up with a very bright fog light like you see hanging off the bottom of MX5's. While he was out I took off the old light and got the wiring ready for the new one, all the while dealing with a stream of people sticking their heads in the engine bay and asking what I'd done to it and if I'd "chipped" it. What does that even mean nowadays?? Once Mark was back we got the light fitted and had a spot of lunch. Onto the race, chucking it down at the start. No formation lap so drove out onto the grid and waited for the lights. Running through a million things in my head to make sure I didn't fcuk the start up. Lights went out and got a fair bit of wheels spin but got away ok, by turn 2 I was still in third and we were pulling away from the rest. It stayed like that until lap 3 when the 205 came passed at a stonking rate of knots. He'd done quali with semi slicks on and full wets for the race so was about 20 seconds a lap faster, went very sideways at turn 2 after he went passed but didn't spin or quite come to a halt. After a few more laps on my own I saw the M3 in the wall and the safety car came out. I didn't know wether to pit or not (hindsight a wonderful thing) so I stayed out as the porsche in front had. Mark put the pit board out so I came in the next lap, we'd caught the SC half way round that lap though and it was going very slow indeed. Then when I got the the pits there was a car driving in at about 25mph (limit is 37mph) very frustrating. Did the pit stop and got back out and once it settled down I found that not stopping straight away had cost me atleast 4 places. Trying not to kick myself too much I just made sure I made no more mistakes and made my way through many back markers to try and catch class C P1. Ran out of time though by the end! Definitely the hardest race I've done so far 😂 and the best. Didn't find out until they gave someone else the 2nd place trophy that I'd gotten 1st place!

Surprised they allow full wets! Is it not the usual list 1a/b choice?
They dont. They are Uniroyal Rainsport 3s which are on the list
