RC5+ very mixed reviews but I thought I'd fine out for myself. The car is currently fitted with them and I'm very pleased with their performance to be fair which is why I'm thinking if it isn't broke don't fix it.

I'm worried that they fall apart as I haven't properly tracked it yet.

Does that happen often? sh*t brake pads are pointless because I do one lap and get pad transfer, judder, fade, all the above. I've tried Trackdays three times on normal pads and wasted my track day money each time so I've learnt my lesson and only use pads designed for the task. That said, I have some part worn M1144 I will take as they may just about handle the heat from what I hear.

I think they sorted the issues with the RC5+

I've also heard a few stories and the guy I bought the Z4M from said he had two sets crumble on him in an Elise before he learnt his lesson.

But they seem fine on my car so hopeful they will be good.

My rears started looking slightly dodgy after a few years.  Swapped them out as a precaution.  Bloody good on track though!

They absorb moisture which in turn causes corrosion and falling off the back plate. By no means just a CL thing I've had on other racing type pads. Remember racing pads don't usually designed to do the 1000's of road miles too.

That makes sense, it doesn't appear to have happened to my current pads but then the previous owner garaged it and I drive it most days which should help keep them dry.

The rears where in perfect condition and about 50% worn so I greased them and put them back.

The fronts were also OK but 70% worn so I fitted some new ones, the new RC5+ appear to have a brass backing which looks good.

I greased them all with Padig clear tec and fitted new pins and retainer and brake squeal is almost completely eliminated.

The worn great straight out of the box on old Padig discs, no need to break them in, they have better cold bite and modulation also.

Here are some pics of the old, you can see crumbling round the edges but this is normal from this kind of pad in my experience:

As you can see the in the link the replacement allen bolts have a head but the old ones are completely flush so I think the replacements must be incorrect?

Also I couldn't get the drivers side caliper off the hub carrier as you can see in this video, any tips?

I tried gently hitting the hub carrier with a hammer.
