Wheels will stay silver, but, my track wheels will be black (when) I get some.

Just bought my first Lotus bit, a towing eye. It has begun.

Nice new motor. Don't fancy holding onto vx another few months to give it a proper send off (Hoon)?...

Seriously? The screw in nut hidden behind the mesh?

Not on the v6, it doesn't have the same method.

Welcome to the club  :)  Car looks fantastic - i saw it pop up at Targa recently and it really jumped out. The silver wheels IMO make the car. Saying that i might be selling my gloss black cast set shortly. I have some forged wheels on route so have the option of storing the cast ones in the house or not getting a divorce... ill probably keep the cast ones  :D

What's the management summary? Remove mesh, bolt in eye, put in new mesh fit for towing eye?

Didn't you wait 2 months to get those wheels in the first place? You must have more money then sense

No the forged wheels that are arriving at the same ones I've been waiting for all this time - got to love Lotus supply chain.... In the end after the wait was taking the p*ss, Stratton (who were excellent throughout) arranged for me to take the car on the cast wheels.

It doesn't come with any front towing mechanism at all. There isn't even a screw in option. There is a lotus 'cup' bracket which bolts to the back of the crash box and sticks out through the grill but I had to be cut out. https://www.thelotus...ting-the-grill/ Also Martin, suggest you get new bolts.

Seems a slightly crap solution. Why not contact the person on ebay selling steel towing support for the VX/Elise and ask him to make one up for the Exige? If the threaded section is at the right height you can screw it through the gaps in the mesh.

not 'motorsport' enough Tom :P

Lotus boys need to pay £120 (or whatever it is) for a purpose made bracket and they HAVE to cut their grill to be proper 'track heros'. :P

The rear one is even worse, it's a £250 strap and you have to cut the grill on the diffuser to fit it.

Did i miss the memo where lotus were thinking their Exige V6 would be sold as a road car only, and not 95% of the owners taking it to the track?
