Hi,
I have a 2001 CV220 2.2
I've posted about this before, but despite several attempts to repair it the problem persists. The symptoms are, when the car gets warm, its cuts out as if it has ran out of fuel and wont start. If you leave it till it cools, it starts perfectly and cuts out again as soon as it reaches temperature.
The car has been lying in Vauxhall for the last year who have diagnosed a faulty fuel pump. I purchased one from Glencoe Ltd. This resulted in very slightly better performance when the tank was full, but the same problem persists.
The issue I have is Vauxhall have identified this as a faulty fuel pump issue. It seems unlikely the pump would fail, followed by the new replacement also failing, and I dont want to have to go to the added costs of taking the pump out, returning it and having to reinstall it to find out it was never the fuel pump.
Prior to the fuel issue there was a series of electrical faults. The car hit a bump and several things happened: The windscreen wiper stopped working (requiring a new motor at a ridiculous cost). The ABS failed requiring a new sensor. The speedo stopped working needing reconnection. And the fuel issue started.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the issue? As it has already cost thousands and I cant keep paying mechanics to experiment with solutions.
Thanks.
