Peter - have you removed the centre console but kept the gear lever gaiter??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Mat, I've kept the mechanism as is and just removed the plastic cover. I did have a suede gaitor on the stick but removed that shortly after realising the console won't fit. If you want to see in detail pm me and I'll send you some pics.

Yeah, off to the Netherlands in the end but I got the full asking price. Still a bargain though it was as new condition. As you're in Cardiff if you pass Swansea you can always have a look at the seat install and try them out.

To be honest in all the years I've been a car nut I've never been to one. I don't go on pistonheads much at all any more so don't even know where or when they happen lol.

I sat in a b6 today. Tight and right round the stomach but my shoulders and chest are too big and made me feel like I was in a babies seat... but then it was a s2 so a bit poof

The B5 is a good compromise. On the road it's the best shaped seat for comfort I've had in the car (and you'll probably know I've tried a lot) and on track with the harness you really are "in" the car. Tried the B6 on Ste's old car on SELOC and it was ok fit for my size for 2 mins but getting in and out was hard work. I like on the B6 the way it keeps your legs straight though, I tend to slouch in the seat. Both better than oem for me and much lighter, but I would always advise someone to try before you buy.

The seats are slippery without and you end up slowly submarining in the seat.

Not so much about slipping down, just gives me an extra bit of elevation so I fit better in the seat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

6 point is the way forward - you can get the crotch straps tight enough to prevent submarining without causing permanent damage to the Crown Jewels. 5-point just seems like a bad idea to me.

My mate has bare 5's in his Elise, with belts you keep sliding and a harness on the road is a pain

If it's of interest I can make my seat mould available. I'm not interested in making them but the mould is available. Should fit a pair in with the centre console.
