I'm thinking of getting a supercar experience for my son who turns 12 next month. 

 

Anyone got any real experience of the ones they do in North Weald? I saw one there with a bit of tuition, then three miles each in three cars... seems what I want, but no idea whether these things are well run/well regarded. Are there any others in the East London/Essex area worth considering?

As I understand it, the North Weald days are run by "Walshy" of SELOC fame. So might be worth posting over there. Lee.

Ah. That's Walshy as in:  "I saw you drive your VX, Steve; you really need to go on a Walshy day as soon as possible".

Took my son along to a North Weald, Car Limits day yesterday.

 

A few days after his 12th birthday, he elected to drive a Nissan GTR, BMW I8 and then a Lamborghini Huracan.

 

He's never driven anything beyond go karts before, but absolutely loved the Lamborghini; he didn't stop talking about it all afternoon/evening.

 

I have to say that the instructors and support staff were terrific; they saw a slightly worried looking little lad and really went out of their way to make him feel at ease.

 

The whole thing was pretty decent value as well. Highly recommended as a day out guaranteed to live long in a young memory. Excellent!
