Hi!

I have a friend's VX220 at home trying to solve some oil leaks from the oil filter housing.
I disassembled the oil sandwich, changed the seals and I realized there wasn't the diverter valve.
Can anyone tell me the function and how important is this valve?

The part number doesn't exist so... Need to know if can work without it.

Find attached a picture of the diverter valve.

without it the oil does not really flow through the oil cooler, it's designed to force the oil through the oil cooler, so the engine can run without it.
