Had a great day yesterday at Oulton Park, first time out in the car since BOT carried out a complete refresh of all the suspension components including Nitron Bearings and the spitfire brace.

I have to say it's transformed the rear end stability of the car massively and it feels a lot more composed than it ever did on the 60k 18 year old bushes.... There's a surprise!!

Not sure exactly what had the biggest effect but very very happy with it :)

Great vids!

How did you find the Nitron Bearings on the road, was it a noticeable difference in vibration etc?

what a superb vid from the E36! He was fully on it and it looked like it was well kitted out.

How on earth did he get the rear view to overlay on the top like that? looked really cool

Very little difference but BOT got rid of a few rattles when they put it back together for me so it's hard to tell tbh! I only drive it to the circuit or BOT anyway :)

Its so damn accurate though you would love it. I didn't realise a VX220 could handle so well.

My car does have all the stiff bits inserts, Vibra Technics & decat so its not exactly a vibration free experience anyway.

Elliot,

Would you say that your car had a noticeable improvement with the new bushes?

When I finally get my bodywork finished, it will be time for a decent suspension refresh, new bearings etc.

I may put some old clams on to give the VX a few track outings this year. I’ve had a few in my Cayman but I’m getting board of it already. Mind you, it hasn’t broken after a few hard laps! Lol

Yes Max it made a massive difference..., but my old ones were original. Jez reckoned the rears bush’s were quite worn and that there would have had a fair bit of play under load.

Big thumbs up from me :) hope all is well with you.

I’m hoping to dust down (piece together!) the VX early this year. It would be great to do a couple of track days with you to iron out all my bad habits...

...That’s driving habits! Otherwise you would have your work cut out!

Anyway, Let me know when you’re doing one anytime March onwards. I’m hoping to get the car to BOT for a setup.

Last time I was on track with you I was N/a but judging by the amount of times you were lapping me you appeared to be circulating very rapidly indeed (orange blur)

Would be great to do a few laps together to compare the cars though...knowing how rapid you and the car are you may be bored quickly but that’s not a problem :)

im doing Snetterton on the 23rd of March if that’s any good :)

Well, it’s fair to say that my car is reasonably quick. But like many, I have over upgraded my engine to give me the ability to go fast in straight lines. This does not require any additional skills.

I honestly believe you will definitely be able to drive my car quicker around a track than me. So there’s plenty to learn.

I will see if I can dust off my VX and get it temporarily usable again by March.
