I took it from the big red (permanent +12V) wire from the alternator.

But you have to install a relais, which is switched by ignition!

You can take that also for additional stuff. There will be enough power on that cable for sure!

In general you can take the +12V from wherever you want if its not a thin cable.

Just make sure the fuse from where the cable comes is big enough.

Thanks for the patience with me guys I really have no idea when it comes to wiring and don't want to get it wrong!!

For 12V permanent wire could I crimp one of these on and simply screw it on to the red alternator wire?

For the 12v switch I'm pretty sure I will take this from the green wire on the radio loom as that seems recommended and should be easy for me to do :)

Then its just the EGR wire and second lambda.....  luckily aquamist is going to make me a positive PWM system for me so I won't need to solder anything on the circuit board :)

Or perhaps do the same thing with the crimp and attach it here like Smiley did for his wiring pump. Thinking about it this is probably where my charge cooler pump gets its power from already!

Regarding freezing water in the pipes has anyone run into this issue using WI and if so has anyone been running a small alcohol mix to reduce the boiling point?

If you check my old resurrection thread there’s the full story of how Crabash installed it on mine a few years ago.

I’ve never had an issue with frozen water in the pipes although tbd I’ve not tracked it in the winter months and don’t use WI on the road.
