If you have used 888R? I would say grip of 888R is slightly better than ZZR.

All other attributes I would say ZZR is better : turn in/sidewall stiffness, endurance and wear rate.

Probably not much good...you now need someone to compare 888R against A052!

I had zzr on front and have v70a on front now. Zzr is to stiff on front. On rear sidewall stiffness zzr is ok.
I have read many very positive reviews about a052 but I would like to make sure that they are doing good in vx220.

When I had ZZR’s I found they went off (hard) quickly with heat cycling so while they had good tread the grip dropped off after the first couple of track days.

I race my Caterham on AO48’s and they keep putting in the lap times right down to the canvas (although warm up time increases but that’s not a problem for track days).

If the price was similar I’d go for the Yoko’s.

If I recall correctly ZZRs not "legal" for road anymore so I switched to ZZS. Did not feel much difference in the dry, but in the wet they are night and day and as I can be driving 250-400 miles each way to a track day I think the ZZS is a much better option to ZZR unless your car is track only mostly.

I can confirm now that the A052s are faster than the R888Rs. Our local track washed away in a flash flood earlier this summer and they luckily rebuilt quickly .
Got out on track for the first time since running with the R888Rs last season, which my best time posted was 1:07.5.

I knocked a full second off that time almost immediately, 3 laps into the first session, and followed it up with multipl 1:06's. Then knocked another full second later that day as I settled in.
The alignment is worse than it was too, I have to keep the front end of the car higher than it should be to clear the front tires with the very aggressive offset that the wheels have. So I think there's another 1.5 seconds to be had likely too.

The G Meter on my fastest lap with the R888Rs was 1.1 sustained and barely touched 1.2G in one corner versus the 1:05 lap where it's 1.2-1.3 sustained and touched 1.4G

Po polsku będę pisał. Google przetłumaczy. Jeździłem na cup2 z tyłu potem zmieniłem na zzr z tyłu. Zzr jest dużo fajniejsza opona na tył. Bardziej stabilna, łatwiej wyczuć początek uślizgu i nad nim zapanować. No i cena świetna. 2/3 ceny zzr. No cóż a24 się spaliła. No cóż.

new tracks are generally faster anyway, look at Croft lap times, 1'34/35 before the resurfacing and now cars are 1-2 seconds faster on the same tyres.

i ran ZZR's on a couple of trackdays and found they took quite a while to warm up, but when they did they kinda stayed good and never went off in the 20 or so mins i was on track, but the ultimate grip level was lower than that of the 888's i had previously, the problem with the 888's were they warmed up fast then started to slow down the hotter they got.

I bought a052 215 / 40r17.
From the first impressions the mixture is nice soft, but definitely not like the avon zzr a24, but softer than zzr a64 or michelin cup2. there is no chance that the stone will stick to the tire, the semi-hard side is between cup2 and ad08r, the width is very wide as for 215 and the height is very small as for 215 / 40r17, it seems that below 60 cm, so there should be no friction against the wheel arches, for me the tires are definitely they are a tad lower than the kumho v70a in the same size.
The production of my tires is May 2020.
The sidewall seems to be quite hard but the tire collapses in the middle of the tire much more than other semislice tires, which in general is only a bit harder than cup2. 215 / 40r17 a052 for me has a total width of 230mm and a tread of 220mm where the kumho v70a in the same size is 220 and 210cm respectively. weight only 8.7 kg, which is probably a very good result. very light michelin pilot sport cup 2 225 / 45r17 weighed 9.3 kg on the same weight.
generally at 20 degrees outside, the mixture is really soft. perfect for the streets and for a short 2-5 km long time trial.
translated from google. :)

Michelin PSC2 in 215 45 17 are 9.1 kg each... and they are considered lightweight.

Seriously considering buying A052 as my next tyre after the demise of the AD08R.
Reviews seem to show brilliant results when used on the lotus setup and is offered by Lotus as OE on there latest cup cars.
