They are soft though.
I’ve now got 3 sets of rears, to my one set of fronts.

I've no experience of the A052 and having looked at the price, it'll stay that way
3 times rear to one front is fairly standard?

you will not have the same grip levels on the same tire front - back because the front is usually 10 degrees cooler than the rear. Proven on many tracks and street. So for the grip to be the same the front - rear must be on front a tire with a softer compound. it cannot be otherwise. moreover, your consumption of 3x a052 in the back vs 1x a052 in the front confirms it.Nah, would rather have matching tyres all round... aesthetics reasonably mainly but also grip levels.

Interesting. How many trackdays do you usually get out of a set of rears?
If around 3 then similar to what I got out the ad08r. That said everything I've read seems to suggest it's much softer even though they have the same 200 treadwear.

Finally got back to Streets of Willow to test out the A052s. Same wheel, suspension, and powertrain setup as the Trofeo Rs. This is an Elise SC with stock motor, 4.8:1 to final drive, non-adjustable Penskes and 15x8 F and 15x8.5 R wheels. Tire sizes for both were 205/50-15 F and 225/50-15 R. The car is about 15 pounds lighter with the A052s due to the addition of a CF bonnet and front access panel. Times are as follows:
Trofeo R best: 1:24.90
A052 best: 1:23.36*
The Trofeo R run was in the morning with air temperatures in the high 40s and calm winds. The A052 run was in the morning with air temperatures in the high 30s and calm winds. For the A052 run, there's a new bump on entry into the back straight chicane that was unsettling the car at the fastest part of the circuit. In later running with the A052s in high 40s temperature, the car was running low 1:24s, but I wasn't pushing quite as hard as in the first session. The Trofeo R was fresh while the A052 already had 3 trackdays and 12 heat cycles on it. Car was driven to the track.
Plenty of people on the internet have already said it, but the A052s are mega fast. They're easily a second faster than the Trofeo Rs in comparable conditions, and probably more than that.
*I was on pace for a lap that might have been in the 1:22s, according to sector times, but a car rejoined the track in front of me and I had to back out of it.
