Just picked up my new daily driver to replace the Clio RS220.....

Panther Black B8 Audi RS4.  Despite the complete lack of any low down torque, once you get up the revs it sings

Pics to follow :)

I'd always worry about buying on of these, or the RS6, second hand as the vast majority of them that I have seen being driven have been driven by tw@ts of the highest order who thrash the arse of them, cut in late on sliproads and seem so fcuking stupid that they haven never even worked out how to use the indicators.

Just my experience, Nothing personal.

 I whole heartedly agree!  I looked at a few of them and some of them looked errmmmm "well driven" for the miles.  This one looks brand spanking new inside and out :)

Hopefully I am keeping it out of the hands of one of those.  Looking at the lifetime MPG (19.8) and my average so far over c1,000 miles since owning it (24.6) I would guess that the previous owners liked to thrash it....  I am of the sentiment that every engine needs it's neck wrung occasionally though just to blow away the cobwebs :)

Disclaimer: If I morph into an a-typical Audi driver I shall rescind the above

Nice.

I've quite recently got a B8 S4 which has been remapped and was surprised how thirsty it was. Sounds great though.

Infact my B5 RS4 is more economical than the B8!

I sold my B8 RS4 last month.  I had it for a year and a half. Great car but agree it needs more low end torque.  I put an eventual induction kit on it and it sounded brilliant. I sold it due to the worry of Audi repair prices, depreciation costs and the fact it had ceramic brakes which were mega however the cost of replacing them would have been ridiculous. Now dailying the vx for a bit.
