This lockdown is making me bored so I'm thinking of a new career as a scam artist.  The plan thus far is as follows

1) Find something that people want but can't get (think time in the sun time-shares or similar)

2) Do a, very public, survey to determine the best option (Monaco maybe?)

3) Claim to be able to supply at roughly half the price but demand cash upfront

4) set up as ltd company

5) Take cash.  Mmmmm, lovely cash.

6) Supply one or two over a looooong time; just enough to stop the angry mob forming but not enough to stop me spending all that lovely cash.  (mmmmm cash)

Obviously at this point it's going to go a little pete tong so I need an exit strategy.

1) Continue to promise delivery

2) Stop replying to PM / Post / Phone / Email

2) Move house (I assume IP address would also change if I've moved?)

3) Strip company of cash (mmmm, cash)

4) liquidate company

5) Buy new phone

6) Start new social media accounts

7) Buy a Bentley continental GT ( I fancy one of those)

have I missed anything?  Other than the awesome idea of what to sell?

A moment of inspiration!

For that something to sell I could make it slightly socially unacceptable so people are reluctant to pursue me.

There's always the GIANT RED DILDO scam which I think might lend itself particularly well to you. :-)

1. You get cheque books printed with the words GIANT RED DILDO emblazoned across the cheques.

2.  You buy a few red dildos.

3.  You advertise your product in all the 'suitable' magazines and places at a ridiculously cheap price.

4. Fulfill orders with the not too many dildos you have.

5.  Those orders you can't fulfill you re-imburse the buyer with a GIANT RED DILDO cheque and wait to see how many customers are too embarrassed to cash their refund at the bank.

Then there's the UNIVERSAL FLY KILLER.  Guaranteed to kill all flies absolutely 100% and most other flying insects and fully bio-degradable.

The kit consists of two square blocks of wood about 2" x  1/2"

One block has an 'X' marked in the centre.

Instructions for the kit are as follows.

1. Catch your fly.

2. Place the block marked 'X' on a firm surface 'X' upermost.

3.  Place the fly on the spot marked 'X'.

4. Holding the second block directly above the first, bring it down sharply on the fly.

Guaranteed to kill all known flies and most other flying insects.

Health and Safety warning - Ensure when bringing the top block down on the bottom one that fingers are not in the way as otherwise this could cause injury.

How about selling tartan paint? You supply the raw ingredients (separate paint colours) with instructions on how to mix.

Add a disclaimer that refunds are not eligible if the paints were not mixed correctly.

Never really understood how people could be so stupid. But then realised it is mostly about "greed" - no one wants to spend the time working hard to earn the money they need to buy the nice things they want. They just want an "easy" route.

So, never feel sorry for greedy b@stards like that who get fleeced!

Do feel sorry for the elderly who get scammed, but that's a different story.
