I wouldn't read too much into the statement about the product manager inspecting it.
A short sighted orangutan who had left his glasses at home could see the blatant faults still present on my car when it had been to Vauxhall's tech centre, despite these same assurances that it would be inspected.

Dan,
in answer to your question I'm the Media and Motorsport manager for Vauxhall. So I do all the product PR , press launches etc and run the VXRacing side of the business.
As for the short sighted orangutan I'll have a chat with him as well and see if we can fix his glasses..
Nick, hope that helps. The 'product manager' is quite thorough.....

You're obviously an enthusiast and must be commended on waving a big stick in response to an individual problem that gains high profile on the forum.
But from reading of the many difficulties others on the forum have experienced, it does seem that customer liason WRT the VX is not working as it should. Whether the fault lies with the dealers or Vauxhall is, in the end, of no consequence to the customer - he or she just wants prompt, efficient, courteous and competent service.
If Vauxhall want a significant up-market share with vehicles like the VX and Signum, maybe they should be doing more to ensure that all customers are better informed and cars don't "disappear" for several weeks, being left unattended to for half the time!
Sounds like the end-of-term form-masters report would read along the lines of, "Griffin is a pleasant child and I'm sure he would achieve results that he would be proud of if he took the time and trouble to apply himself more diligently to the task in hand. I will be looking for an marked improvement next term if he is to get the grades that we all know he is capable of in the summer." Headmaster,"Griffin must get his head down for a concerted effort this year."
Sound familiar to anyone?

Nick,
Good news. I saw your car today. One of my friends was test driving it before it's ready to go back to you!
Looks like all your problems are sorted. It's my mate who has fixed it up for you and fitted your fog lights etc. I must say they do appear to have had it for a while!
Looks like a very good job however!
Hope you have happy motoring!

I was in France yesterday, so no big update on my car, although I have had a message on my phone that an update is available.
Anyway, the dealer has now agreed to insure me on the Turbo when it arrives on Monday, so thats saved me a little hassle. I tell you what is irritating, and could quite easily have been resolved early on.... If I had been given a VX as a replacement car while my car was in Luton, I wouldnt have been pissed off at all...... I would have had no reason to ring Customer Care up regularly tearing my hair out, and it wouldnt have reached the point where I have to throw all my toys out of my pram.
Anyway, as things stand I'm more content knowing that I will have a car on Monday, eitehr my own or the VXT.
M17D VX - I hope your friend works at Vauxhall, and isnt just an oik joyriding in my motah.
Seriously though, do you work at Luton?...
