My plate is H1 0HN.

I got ukautoplates.com to make me a plate that moved the 1 up against the 0 and sloped all the letters to the right.

Now it looks a bit like 'H JOHN'.

Until recently I thought this was really cool. B)

It's not. It's sad as fcuk.

My advice: don't misrepresent your numberplate, buy something that looks good STANDARD. Otherwise don't bother.

They're probably too scared to pull you over in case they catch the measles off that front end ;)

Actually, having said that, BAD_VX looks ace. I take it all back.

Bet the cops pick on you for it though - I've been pulled over 7 times in the last 6 months. Never been fined though. ;)

Agreed, I'm not normally keen on having to mis-space registrations. My other plates - C3RSA and V3CCY work with just the gap between number and letters removed. Having said that when B4D VX came up I'd have been mad not to take it as there were no VX plates that didn't need a bit of space fiddling.....

B4D VX looks the biz - pretty much a cousin to L1L VX :) :) Need to get M4D VX and B1G VX to create a family! :)

The only thing that makes it illegal is that it wasn't printed by an 'approved' number plate manufacturer.

As I understood it, the law has for several years now required that the plate must be mounted at 90 degrees to the road surface.

A lot of E-Type Jag and Sunbeam Alpine, etc. owners whose cars originally had stuck-on plates had difficulties. IMO you've got no chance of getting away with it on a VX if they want to go by the letter of the law.

Would be happy to hear that this is no longer the case, but I somehow doubt it... since when has common sense prevailed with road traffic legislators?

Best of all is they don't have to have any front plate in some US states. Suppose you could all emigrate to Florida or Switzerland where we have titchy little front plates. But, no doubt it's just a matter of time till we "harmonise" with Europe and put snow ploughs on too! Bl**dy politicians! :beat:

1) The number plate laws changed recently, and are now much stricter. All the internet suppliers are acting illegally, because you are supposed to show your V5 or a retention document before any plate supplier issues plates. This is to stop cars being issued with/driven on false plates. This is something I actually agree with, and if your car gets cloned and you have to try and explain away speeding raps/no tax/dangerous driving/armed robbery accusations, you will agree too :( The company that made the plates up has to be marked on the plates, so that if the plate is illegal they get done too. 2) The changes regarding plates being set vertically, approved fonts, spacing etc are solely to do with number plate recognition cameras - not necessarily something I agree with ;) ;)
