At their suggestion I replaced the gear box oil with Redline Oil, and I believe it makes a difference, the pick-up seemed to improve noticeably :D

It's at the bottom of this PAGE, just above the shiny new replacement caps for the water and engine oil in the engine bay....want some of those  as well

Does it never stop :beat:

pretty good stuff, I used to get it at wholesale-price in Atlanta....now in italy is hard to find and way overpriced..... :( ...I was told that the red GM fluid is synthetic already, so I stick with it for now...

Well I can vouch it is RED :P , and after 12k it was as clean as a clean thing :D
But the redline does make a difference IMO thumbsup

today I checked the gearbox oil level, just out of precaution, since tomorrow is track-day time... and I noticed that shifts were a bit stiffer when hot.... ....so I find out it was 0,7lt overfilled....   the friggin tuner did that after installing the quaife differential.... (charging me 15 euros for an "extra" lt.) ...I mean, does it take THAT much to figure out the level-screw?!? I also find out he "forgot" to plug back the reverse sensor....:9mm: ...and forgot the water reservoir retaining clip.... :beat: rant feck him, I guess 99,9% of automechanics are like that (in my lifetime experience) because can't be anything better... rant I will switch to red-line after the track-day...I guess the new quaife diff should let go some beading-in debris, so a flush is en programme....

Ricky, does your filler bolt have yellow paint on it? TIS 2000 says F23 gearbox overfilled by 0.5 litres as a field remedy, maybe that's why you were overfilled

At the risk of sounding stupid here, where is the thing to check fluid levels in the gearbox. Just a little concerned as took it round the track last week and found transmission fluid had leaked. Is this normal when taken on the track?

yes, it means that you have too much oil in the box AND you do not double-shift/match engine revs when downshifting.

just got the red line oil, after much debating, I went for the 75W90ns , specifically developed for sport cars qith race differentials, like the quaife. I also got some high-temp ATF tranny fluid for my new towing tool, the C5 LPG'ed 3.0V6...fully sinth as well, should be fine even when trailering the speedy over alpine passes... :P ...and is cat-approved... :D

Or you just need a gearbox breather fitting. Vauxhall did mine for me under warranty. thumbsup
