I added some black rubber sound proofing below my seats and up the back wall. The benefits of this were it not only stops things rolling around, cuts down the bad noises and as a bonus, goes under the parcel shelf and eliminated the plastic viration noises. Martin s

I saw those plastic screw rivets in Halfrauds the other week when i went to get some fibre washers... Pack of 10 i think £2+

As for the mild steel rivets, theres one on my car which holds the leather partof the door card in position. The screw in this kept spinning i managed to cut it out with a dremel thumbsup i found some special type of rivets i forget the name but basically they are rivet with a thread through the middle, pop in the hole and tighten them up and they are perfect!

Yes they were from Vauxhall. Part no. 9197260. I would have thought if you have the old one and the time you could source them from somewhere else and cheaper.

Was trying to source some of these myself for the rear wheel arch. Just to show how much Vauxhall are marking up :9mm: , I found a plastic fixing distributer who are selling them for £63/500. 0r 12p each. :beat:
Unfortunately 500 is the minimum order so looks like Halfrauds is the next best bet.

For info, the reason for plastic screws and not steel is to allow rapid assembly as they are designed to be pushed in and screwed out but generally to be used only once. thumbsup

I recommend using the standard plastic housing, with a stainless screw rather than the stupid plastic one. Also repeatable, had the undertray off 4 times in 2 weeks!

Now that's a good idea. thumbsup

Just try taking the map pockets out of the interior and you'll learn the meaning of 'Rounding off'. Ended up removing mine by cutting a groove in the head for use with a slotted screwdriver then twisting off with pliars. Good job I was taking the seats out anyway

They are complete crap

Have to agree, some of my scrivets were broken when I was trying to put em back but was still able to use them but they won't last the next time I remove them :drink: ...

I have used scrivets from sjsportscars. They sell the lotus ones. I bought 20 as they were quite cheap. They are a dash bigger than the Vauxhall ones (for some really odd and incomprehensible reason). I haven't drilled the existing holes bigger yet as I don't want to never be able to get original Vauxhall ones but I have thought about it. Instead I have used them for my front splitter and they work a treat. I would say they are more robust than the Vauxhall ones and you can screw them in and screw them out and screw them in... unlike the Vauxhall ones where you can only screw them in and damage the head :P Just my 2p

Hmmmm, I bought some from Halfords but they're quite long. They'll be fine for things like the centre console, but the one that goes into the side of the black plastic sill cover must have to be quite short as you've got some "cha-ssy" in behind there blocking you off... does anyone know if the original one for there is indeed shorter than it's scrivvety pals? (I wrecked mine taking it off).

Found myself with exactly the same problem this week having bought a packet from Halfords. :o Bought a packet of plain trim fasteners at the same time to hedge my bets and one of these worked a treat on my sill cover. thumbsup

Like James Gray I started using stainless steel screws instead of plastic the first time I removed a wheel arch thumbsup , and I found various scrivets at Haulfrauds some time ago. thumbsup I also sourced some stainless steel pop rivets (I also have copper ones) of various sizes in a tiny iromongers in Italy (must get more next year) and when I replaced my front splitters with carbon fibre I used the stainless rivets with a stainless washer inside and out.. My 2p worth. :D
