Hello my friend.

Many thanks for a warm welcome.

Kind regards and a meow from moogie (asleep as usual on the old three foot deep tv...warmest place in the house, lol)

:)

All good here :)

Cats (and Debs) are still here:) how do they put up with me?!?

The vx might well be going soon though - it's been some journey but the time has come I think

Stay safe milky boy! :)

...'milky boy' indeed (good times/memories)

I wasn't going to ask about the rest of the family, for fear of bad news (time takes it's toll)..very happy to hear that that is not the case.

Moogie is nineteen and a half now, so a blessed but scarey time.

I may well be joining you on the vx front. A long journey too (18 years) and it may well just be a relay, fuse, plug connection or bad earth (none of which i know the slightest about but know the names as i have researched on here over the past few days) but there's just too much going on elsewhere to find the energy. I've not actually driven her for a long time now.

:grouphug: to all there :)

I have never met you Icey but when I started out on my VX adventure, researching on here around 7yrs ago you were one of the characters I remember. Always full of positivity and a true gent.

Shame it’s gone so quiet on the .org. All the knowledge, experience, and good old craic was on here. I check daily. I should update my project thread...

Good Afternoon Acidpopstar.

A pleasure to now make your aquaintance :)

Few have! met me (i am not a social animal)...one owner has seen me seriously lose my temper (sorry mate), another two on one occasion have seen me 'fall over' drunk (embarrassed icey still) and a few more have heard rather than seen me (with a loud vx exhaust/voice) but i'm happy to have made/left such an impression (now if only i could do it in real life, i'd be laughing).

I guess one can find many parallels between personal life and forum life, my own personal enthusiasm and lustre has been somewhat tarnished over the years. This, i believe to be because the main anchor in my life is security and whilst vx ownership has been a wonderful love affair, it has also made me vulnerable and hense insecure due to my own lackings of mechanical and electrical workings. Being so totally reliant on other peoples abilities and responsibility to commitment, has (in all its forms) left me very uneasy through ownership. A startrek style cloaking shield perminantly set on 'battered astra' mode would be the perfect iceing on the cake ;) lol

Glad you found your way to ownership and hope any dramas are few and far between.

:)

Thank you very much Paul :)

To be fair to my little plastic lady, she has seen me extremely well through the years and this problem now is only a result of my own mistreatment of her. In all the years she has never lived out in the weather but, due to living circumstances (that have now abruptly changed) she has been parked in an allocated parking spot for a year and has not responded well. I have been through various car covers from stormforce coverzone to cheerful halfords cheapest but all have ripped and torn and become unusable.

..I remember it well, you, me and Hairy laying prone in a cornfield somewhere in Wales attempting to make Corn circles in the early hours of the morning

..I have dined out on this many times.. :)

..we must do it again...  HH

Lol ..giggling like a schoolboy wearing the wrong legs for the first time with cares as absent as his body hair, wonderful. It brings back distant (but not fading) memories of my youth...

..in my village, as soon as you were both aware enough to do so and tall enough to be seen over it, the right of passage was the pubs 'horse stable style' back door, whose top was always open and which hid and held all the magic and ritual rebellion of single cigarettes and jerry cans of old scrumpy cider for sale at pocket money and saved dinner money prices (a great upbringing lol).

Indeed we must! do it again, my name is at the top of the list (..for i know how .org does love a list lol). If only that evening and following days 'round' itself could be fired up, bottled and consumed again at will.

Gripperrods. The devils own velcro.

No matter where you put it down or how you pick it up it inevitably ends up semi-permanently attached to your hand/arm/leg/wherever.

At my last house I had the carpet up on the stairs and I was stripping paper from the landing.  I slipped on the wet paper and went top to bottom down the uncarpeted stairs.  I managed to avoid all these razors but I can only imagine what they would have done to me!

...where's that skiing gif when you need it, lol

Hope that that gets sorted for you Paul. Do what everyone else seems to do...take the micky and partially build it anyway and by sheer cheek, get away with it (...perhaps a tainted view there by being 'shadowed' by a neighbour in the past...regardless of permissions  :beat:   )

Good luck mate   :)
