Council Tax.

Just got a letter saying it's £2500 this year. All I get for that is 1 lamp post (with a broken bulb) and my bin emptied every 2 weeks (if I'm lucky).  Grrr.

I know what you mean .I'm not as high as that but my village is highest in the borough because we have a village council ( 2 people in it)that is overruled by the town council on everything . We're having 800 homes built our council said no until infrastructure is there to support flooding ,drains, schools but the town council said yes so that's that They've set aside 10k to address it but the head of the council got a 15k pay rise is 145k not enough ?

^^^ The CIL (council infrastructure levy) will be huge on 850 homes, by freedom of information you can find out should you want, its possibly even listed on the planing approval.

That's 1 lamp post more than we have in our entire village, but we can all rest easy at night knowing that we are keeping their gold plated, defined benefit, final salary pension schemes going when most in the real world are suffering cuts.

Im just going to blame the weather for being $hit and unpredictable. Testing Friday and racing Sat/Sun. The forecasters predicted warm and bright, now theyve changed their minds to rain all day Friday and mixed Sat/Sun. Im fed up with the cold/wind/rain will it ever end?

You should try to get our to Spain for a few months, bloody lovely over there and vast open roads with no traffic (if you stay away from cities and the coast).

This is the first full winter I've spent in the UK for 3 years and it really is crap. I never used to notice much when I was younger, but nowadays it irritates me.

Halfords. Robbing cnuts. Needed a pair of plates. Know Halfords are expensive but needed them quickly. Went in, £16. I thought well it's a fiver more than online but I'll have them in ten minutes. Not £16 a pair. £32 a pair!! Got them on eBay for £9.80 Of all the big names that have gone out of business in the last 5 years I wish Halfords had been one of them. If only Euro Car Parts would open retail stores to compete it might see them off.
