I'm going to be having a crack at the 2006 session. My baby is in at TMS on the 22nd August, and I have a day with Walshy booked on the 18th October.

OK, quick intro here:
http://www.seloc.org/sprinting.php

Details for the last event:
http://forums.seloc....ent.php?eid=500

Regs:
http://forums.seloc....gs_20050710.pdf

This thread has loads of info and discussion about the classes:
http://forums.seloc....id=39462&page=1

Seloc are helped by these guys who provide all the officialdom (timing gear, regs etc)
http://www.borough19motorclub.co.uk/

Plus, if you missed them, writeups, a couple of small pics and video from the last couple of events on my site:
http://www.sprint.jasoncarvalho.com/

Tony (and anyone else) - If you're thinking of giving it a go in 2006 I'd definitely recommend having a bash at the last event this year in October. The first one I did back in Feb was full of nerves and me generally getting comfortable with the scene and evironment. I wish I'd have had a crack at the Oct event last year then started this season fresh, knowing what to expect.

Or, if you're not too far away, at least pop down for a couple of hours and check it out.

Be good to have a bit of VX company down there thumbsup

This is the day after the National meet so not too sure what state I will be in. I will try to get over for the day to watch though.

Hi Jase What class do you run in ? My cars stock bar exhaust, sports cat, suspension, wheels and re-map. Does the re-map stick me in Class B ? (as class A states 'standard ECU')... ... and I think I read somewhere you can get MSA license on the day via SELOC ? Don't matter as I'm going to do it anyway... :) thanks again Mick

Good stuff Mick! What tyres are you running on your OZ? Because Yokos would put you in class B anyway. Not sure about the remap. On an Elise it would definitely put you out of Class A, i think with the VX it will be a case of getting in contact with NickB or posting a thread on Seloc and letting them decide. What sort of power does your car have? Best post over there I reckon and see what they say.

cheers Jase I'm running Yoks (Thorney twisted my arm - and they looked so good...) funny thing is, although I've not tried them on tarck yet (or even hard road - as brand new - they don't feel they 'dig-in' as well as Potenzas... but seem to 'glide' across the surface.... maybe just need scubbing in... Group B it is then... I'll just have to do full engine mods.... :) I'm getting 160.7 bhp... Hopefully Thorney or Courtney will sponsor engine upgrade  Mick

I'm all entered for the 2nd October thumbsup Mick (Thorney - you had better get the sponsorship deal on the table now - a few others are sniffing... but I've told them you have first option... I'm just so loyal it hurts...)

I'm not sure that there is a DB max level at North Weald, the other side of the airfield had provost jets and WW2 fighters planes taking off last time so a VX probably won't upset the apple cart!

As Jase says, do this one to learn the track and then start 2006 safe in the knowledge you know the course! :)

I'm not going to be running on the 2nd Oct, but I will be along to watch. Next season will be a bit of a learning curve for me, especially as I will probably jump from class B to class C part way through the year when Thorney slaps the Throttle Body kit on my baby. Anyone up for a convoy down from the National - that way I might actually arive on time and shouldn't get lost.

not sure I will go direct from National... it would be a very early start... and North Weald is only 1 hr from me... if you're competing I think you have to be there for ~0830 :( Jase - what's your plans ? Mick

Jase - what's your plans ?

I'm not partying Saturday night so I'll prob leave Brunters late afternoon on Saturday and come back to MK, then head down to NW early Sunday morning.

if either of you decide to head straight down from Brunters then I'll meet you on the way. But like Mick says competitors have to be there early so if it's just you, Tony, I'll prob want to be there earlier than you.

Just been to the 2nd of Oct event - met the other VX guys - good to see you all there. A bit dissapointed that having a turbo puts me in the super nutter car category with Caterhams Westfields and the like but did give a Porsche 996 (450bhp so the fellow said) a serious run for his money. BLOODY good fun day! now time for some driver upgrades! Next year here I come.
