thumbsup Q for Steve: Is the 58L kevlar tank "plug-n-play"-ready, i.e. is a matter of *just* removing the original 36L tank and then refitting the kevlar tank, or are modifications needed to make it fit ?

Ricky for better engine fueling and for SECURITY re- install the original roll over valve for tank vent!! thumbsup thumbsup (with the adding of a small pipe attached to the smaller tube in a simil elise manner)

P.S. Seal the entrance of your's purge valve or air will be sucked in the intake manif. when the ECU open it,this could cause some lean fuel ratio during opening!! ;)

Cica,
I reinstalled the yellow valve in place of the one I used before, and all seems fine...no tank back-pressure at all...

otoh, the purge valve is totally missing....since the SC installation I remember....dunno where/how it connected and if the entrance point was sealed...I would HOPE so... :o

This is interesting, what are the draw backs, does this take away storage space, add loads of weight etc? If i were to gewt it done, how much would it cost fully fitted? Does Thorney do it. Lots of questions, hopefully you guys can help with answers, thanks in advance

its about £900 for the kevlar tank and i would suggest around about £400 to fit...it doesnt take up any more space

Now also mine purge valve is totally missing,i sealed the manifold entrance and added a 24 ohm resistor instead of the valve, doing this the ECU "think" the valve is in place, eliminating a possible cause for CEL light!! thumbsup

Charcoal canister purge valve, with sealed entrance:

Does this mod work without engine light or trouble code. I wonder about the sealed valve.

Hello,

As I have ordered a Pro Alloy fuel tank, I am thinking of doing this mod (removing this fuel ventilation stuff)...

correct way for removing safely the charcoal filter:
Connect the 2 small tank breather pipe together with a Y adapter to the roll over valve, than re route the exit of the roll over valve for vent to air operation.
Leave in place the canister purge valve and seal the entrance, otherwise during purge operation air can enter in the intake manifold....

To be sure I understood well :

- the big fuel filler pipe goes directly from the fuel filler to the fuel tank
- the medium filler pipe goes directly from the fuel filler to the fuel tank (was going to the roll-over canister before)
- the 2 small tank breather pipe go from the tank to a Y adapter, then to the roll-over valve
- the roll-over valve exit pipe goes to the the vent air (the pipe crossing the engine bay and exiting with a plastic "stuff" on the left hand air scoop (near air intake on a N/A))

After this mod, is there a bad fuel smell around the car ?

Thanks

B)

I am also looking at this mod, I had thought about having a tank made for me and wonder if I need those 2 smaller pipes in the first place?
