Well all I can say of you three (James / Chris / Lee) is that you are all bar-stewards!! You are right that I absolutely miss my VX days and will no doubt be back in something Lotus derived however for the moment I shall have to make do with my measly 385bhp!! James the car is looking absolutely stunning and is only testament to your dedication to the cause. Now get out and drive the thing!! TAGL!!

Just for you Simon:

Yoko's seem to need more weighting that other tyres, and 48s in particular, i've had a few sets now, and its always the same. The wheels haven't needed it on other tyres.

Did you get them "precision" balanced, where they bolt them up using all five bolt holes and not the centre hole? I used to have stacks of weights on the TD's with 888's scattered around the wheel until my tyre place offered me the precision option. Instantly reduced the number of weights by at least 75% and better balanced at speed as well.

Precision balanced. I like the idea of that. Especially if it uses your bolts and locking wheel nuts etc.

They aren't precision balanced, might look into that locally, i've never been offered it though, but they feel good. :)

I hadn't until they told me about. Same machine, they just use a different hub adaptor with holes at the right PCD to bolt the wheel on properly. The tyre place I go to only has one person that's been trained to do it and it takes a bit longer to set up initially (but usually quicker to do the actual balancing) and think it was meant to be £2 a wheel more expensive.

They may well call it something different but F1 Autocentres definitely call it "precision balancing". thumbsup

This is the cost of using the car in the rain - once (on the way back from Abingdon). It got all dirty (happened last year too on the way to le Mans :P)

God, don't tell him he's made no difference. The car will be in pieces and the electric toothbrush will be out, within minutes.
