Yep - runs like a dream. IM not to do the radweld. Im looking having a good look at her in a mo, going to take her out and have a look at the components once there is hot coolant going through so I can see some steam/leaking.

But it also blockes rads heater matrixs water ways in cylinder heads.

IMO thats internet gossip! ...Or i couldnt find any distinct evidence that it would increase these issues

Spent abit of time looking into this as i currently have a slightly leaky "k series" shed on the drive - i have used a product called "k seal" (great name!! :D ) - it works by ceramic fibres that expand when the pressure drops rapidly, this is typically at a crack/hole as the liquid escapes from the high presure system. See here http://www.kalimex.c...=01.04.&pgid=18

Drove 100 miles(one go) in my shed and it went from max to min(6cm)in the header tank. After the K had circulated, i drove the 100 miles back and it was virtually fine. they advertise it as a permanent fix.

I also used radweld on my MkII golf gti, solved the leak too thumbsup

Its a leak from the side of the rad.

I've just phoned VXL.

They replaced all hoses and expansion tank for the previous owner when he had a slight leak at the end of July when the warrenty run out.

SEE HERE

Its a bit of a coincidence that there has always been a leak since I had it - think they bodged it and didnt want to swap the rad.

So I rang them to say that they should get the rad swapped for me free of charge or at least subsidised.

They 'surprisingly' couldnt find my cars details on the system of ever having the work done.!!!!!

I am awaiting them to call me back

They still cannot find the car on the system!!!! :(

Funny that - Yesterday when I booked her in for an inspection they found it first time [I think some call center chick deleted the previous owners details when they put me as the new owner]

Said that he will search on all Monday for all warranty work in July.

I gave him the blurb - and he said that he would get the warranty guy to ring VXL and see if they could meet with the cost of repair.

The case of the leaking rad continues ;)

PS - I was going to order a rad from Eliseparts today for next day delivery to fit tomorrow but am going to see how sympathetic VXL are to my case.

Ah mate - no probs, I feel for you. Hope you get things stright. But like iceman [Julian] said on your thread - this will probably give you the kick up the ass to open you up to a whole new opportunity. Happened to my dad ;)

Yep - thing to do with leaking coolant. That would be sparks/dis pack/water ingress ;) PS. Ordered a new radiator that yours truly will be fitting when I get time! :P

In response to vxtdps in extreme cases coolant loss and missfire in the morning could point to headgasket failure.possibly!!!it can be confirmed with a chemical test.
