Did mine and didn't even take the wheels off or raise it up. If the main bolts around the door jams are easy to do if you know everything will be okay. Just don't try undoing stuff all the way. Undo it a bit and then screw it back in to clear all the dust, crap and rust that has accumulated. Slowly slowly catchy monkey. My main problem was the wheelarch liner captive nut things, not rivnuts or rawl but something else. Just trying to undo them destoyed them and but wobbling them out after meant replacement was easy with brass rawl nuts.

Been tackling this job today. Fogs are disconnected. Found out why at least the o/s was not working, rear cap was not connected and just left hanging! However the fun and games have started with the array of bolts/allen bits that are holding the clam in place. They seem to be a mixture of sizes and types (opposed to the original fixings) which look nice and new and the original fixings that are nearly falling apart from rusting. I'm having trouble however with the first bolt in the guide (step 6/7) I have removed the headlamps but for the life of me cant see a bolt except one that looks like it is holding the fog bracket to the clam. Is this the right bolt or am I looking in the wrong spot?

Its right down at the bottom joint between the radiator cover and the clam. The bolt points directly outwards, in a horizontal direction. The best way to see it is to take the wheel arch liners out and stick your head in the wheel arch and look forward, you should see the wee buggers at the bottom ;)

I think the best way is though the light. need to twist your arm to get to the 13mm bolts.

Well still cant see them. I will jack it back up and get the wheel off and have a look. I wouldn't be surprised if they are MIA to be honest. I have now taken all bar 3 bolts out. 1 is in the recess where the headlight sits and has a god awful screw rather than a bolt, will be cutting that off. However the other 2 are a little more problematic. Both are on the n/s door section. The one at the bottom into the sill has completely rounded off but at least I have access to it for the dremel. The other is the one at the top of the door just under the top of the front clam. That has rounded itself off and being in the position it is I cant see how I can get at it to cut the head off. Any suggestions, particularly on this last bolt?

Can you remove the front clam without removing the front lid?

the front lid bracket is bolted to the rad surround , not the clam itself

you can remove the front clam and leave the front bonnet in place, but it's not worth the extra hassle
