I like the ATS ones but the irmscher are vile  (IMO of course) Interesting wheel sizes, for the ones we're sorting we're sticking with smaller sizes to keep the weight down but still run wider tyres front and rear. Thanks for offer though, I'd like to forge closer relationships with our Euro Speeders cousins and maybe plan a few Euro meets/trips?

Well in Germany its hard to get very light rims, because we have very hard prescriptions. This ATS-rim it the lightest you can get (in germany) and it's even lighter than the original !! I had the chance to get the weight of the originals: back w/o tire: 11.6 kg the org. Potenza tire (225): 10.3 kg During the "Dunlop Drives Cup" they tried the "Irmscher"-rim-tire-combination and even OPEL get so excited about it, they plan to sell it as additional equiptment

Well we're sorting TUV approved wheels from two main manufacturers which will be used on the GT cars as well (so road ones will be proper race reps) and whilst race car sizes are weird (centre locks etc) we're looking at 6.5" wide fronts and 8" wide rears. As they're TUV then they will be fine for all of Euroland. These sizes are optimum for 195mm fronts and 225mm rears tyres but can allow wider sizes for both. Still mulling over idea of 16" fronts or not as depends on tyre choices (advans would be nice but currently don't come in 17" size) and personally speaking the Bridgestones are the worst road tyres I've ever experienced on a track. rant We're planning a full back to back test with diff wheels, tyres (Toyo's, Pirrellis, Yoko's) for road and track, wet and dry and will then suggest the optimum combination. Personally I think this is great news, the more options we have as customers the better, it extends the reach and desirability of the VX/Speedster and that can only be a good thing. A bit off topic......whats the best way to get more involvement with the Speedster community, I'm afraid my language skills are non exisitant but I'd be keen to do some group events and would've loved to get some Speedsters over for the National meet this Sunday?

well, sicey and ricky are sometimes seen in the german forum but this seems to be not enough ;-) so maybe the simplest thing would be the admins ;) keep in contact manually via mail to exchange important topics and events !!!

Who do I keep in contact with?

me :D :P

BTW:
- Both rim-sets have TUV
- Continental Sport Contact2 is a really great tire (for street and for track)
- personally I vote for the 205/235 combination wich is a very good compromise
between speed and security.
this combination helps me to beat some Elise with sport tires on Hockenheimring :D
245 even on 18" gives you a real fast car but with much less control
(and we're no Schumacher/Winkelhock/Schneider/Alesi) ;)
- Looks like Opel will do something big in 2004 for VX220/Speedster B)

Slightly off original topic...I believe numbers are still likely to increase for a trip to Le Mans next year. With the numbers already involved it would make sense to invite our foreign friends too... cheers

yeah,
I was even daydreaming about renting the Ring for a couple of hours, exclusively for a big, European Speedy/Lizzie's meet...that would be AWESOME!! B) B)
anybody can investigate the cost for such thing?
it would have to be planned one year ahead....

Event, meeting, contest organized by OPEL

I have a good relationship with a sportscar training center, giving the speedster community good prices for trainings :D

Maybe we can get "the ring" together with them next year for our speedies/lizzies, becaue otherwise it will be very hard to get your hands on "the ring", manage the costs and all other things like security ... (i tried it once ;-( )
Could be a 2 day event with section training, and more....

Hi all Due to my left back tyre inner wall breaking down I am in the market for a new set of rears. The geezer up the road is offering me a set of Continentals. Reading this topic I see a mention of said tyre. Anybody running with a set on the rear matched up with orginal Potenza's on the front? These rubbers aren't cheap so any feed back be appreciated. On another pint, any news of a VX/Speedster met in Austria or somewhere Continental cheers . I am eager to get off these Irish "roads" :beat: Steve
