did they ever take a vx220 round the top gear test circuit? Would be interested to see just how it compared, both the NA and VXT, to all the other cars they have taken round. After all, what do 0-60 and top end figures tell us...

Nothing to a big stupid grin in 2 maybe 3 seconds. Long may it continue. It’s not all about 0-60mph. :P

Serious answer - As fast as you want it to go..... I did a (very rough) test the other day but ive got a Stage 1 NA with Viper and got 6.1sec. I think the "official" Vauxhall slant is that its 5.9sec, but im not prepared to rev to 4k in second gear and drop the clutch to find out..... If you want to enter the "is a NA or VXT faster" debate then do a search its been discussed lots. The basic answer is in a straight line the VXT wins but on a very bendy circuit the NA has more grunt out of the corner due to not having turbo lag.... anyway thats my 2p spent happy diliberations

I often sit alone and think about this one...

How quick is my car?..

Who can i out drag from the lights?...

Is my penis car bigger faster than Mr Saxos?

Maybe if i drive around in the winter with my roof off girls will like me?..

Then i pinch myself while saying the words ''im not 17 anymore, that was ten years ago.. and nine inches is plenty big enough, so grow up richy and stop thinking sh*t''

5.6 0-60 if you dump the clutch at the limter. 6.1 if you change gear at 57 like most people. This 'limitation' is because of gearing not lack of power, grip or lightness. The NA's 0-80 time is very competitive with other quick cars when all being compared have had to change gear twice. Top speed isn;t really much over 135-ish though. Its so very uncomfortable at that speed it takes a committed person to press on harder. Heres Top Gears performance figures from 2004 might help you compare. The NA might be better at corners (or it might not) but I doubt "turbo lag" has anything to do with it - never noticed any in mine, put foot down & it takes off.

Drove an Impreza & RS4 twin-turbo on a track day, really noticed it with them, but never with a VX (except for the flatspot, but that's different).

I was more refering to the fact that the NA is a 2.2 and the turbo is a 2.0 so untill the turbo kicks in the NA has the advantage

It's always a relief on SCC runs out to see that it can keep up with yours, just about. I always expect you to leave me for dead, because mine's broken or something :D

You shouldn't put yourself down like that snoops, we didn't have to drop the pace too much on Sunday so the turbo boys could keep up :)
