These are the exige wheels. The black ones. Will these fit on the vxt with just the lotus hubs? Or do we need bigger modifications? I understand i could save a lot of weight (also suspended wight) over the standard ones and also i wil be able to fit 195 in the front. Also i will change to AP brakes at the same time. Anyproblem with these? Am i right? Thanks!

The Exige wheels are wider track than the normal Elise wheels - The Elise guys who fit them have to cut away at the clam or fit the motorsport clams for real effect.

those are Lotus motorsport wheels. Look the dogs danglies and you'll need a second mortgage to get them. Then you need Lotus hubs (althought they are a straight fit) and then nitrons to take the full advantage. One day when i can afford it, i'll be putting black motorsport wheels on the vx. :D

What is the motorsport clams?

So is this something to think about it or definately too expensive?

Anything is possible - start searching for tham and get a quote from someone who sells the Elise hubs. James are you sure the rims that he has pictured will be the right offset even when he has the Lotus hubs - as they look like they are off the S2 Exige.... which has the same offset as the 111R but a different one to the K series Elise's. I know we share the same rear subframe as the S2 Exige though ....... PS. the Elise Motorsport clams look like the S1 Exige clams..... If were talking about fitting the S1 Exige wheels to a S1 Elise.

The offsets are radically different but is is possible with spacers. The fronts aren't the issue, its the rears, we put Oz Lotus ones on my car and they wore away the outer arch in a couple of roundabouts :beat:

Yes, but the OZ's are only meant for the K-series S2's which have the following offsets on the normal wheels:

Front: ET31
Rear: ET18

The Toyota powered Elises (111R and S2 Exige) have different rear offsets that are much closer to the VX:

Front: ET31
Rear: ET38

Fitting Rover-S2 rear wheels on a VX or toyota powered S2 will make them stick out way too far.

Bye, Arno.

I am definately lost here in a world of offsets. I just want new and lighter wheels for my vxt. But i want to upgrade to the AP racing brakes at the same time. And i dont like the superturismo nor the 5 spokes wheels designs. So that leaves me in a world of NO MORE CHOICES! Come on, if an elise S2 has the same subframe as our cars, why cant we fit these wheels? (yes i need to change the hubs and discs, so what, no problem, they weight even less!) I saw an old post by cyberman where he had fitted some similar wheels, but those were not black and did not say anything about offsets or any detail...

Our offsets are 26f and 35r. The Toyota wheels 'should' fit but caliper clearance is more about wheel design rather than simple numbers and wider 5 spoke tpe designs are always tighter on this due to the inherrent nature of the shape (hence we use multi spokes as they are lighter as well.) Only way to be sure is to offer up a wheel against the caliper on the car....happy to help here if you can want?

Thanks thorney. Yes, as soon as we can find some wheels that make me happy and really works i wil go to the UK for the full effect. Wheels, AP brakes, nitrons and stage 2 or 3. All together so the trip is seized.

ANy of these 2 photosops that i made would make me happy. I dont find the multi spoke desings of superturisimos in harmony with the speedster/elise desing. Also i allready have the OZs in another car, so it would be boring.

'Cyberman' on here has those S2 Exige forged alloys on his VXT with lotus hubs, fits no probs. He seems to rate them pretty highly too. There's photos somewhere on here...

Yes, but is he still rading the forum?

About selling original brakes and wheels, probably yes, since i will not have space in the car to take them back :D

He's still around, yes. He was posting a week or two ago in the motorsport section. Maybe PM him?
