Mine is being raped worked on by Phoenix Croydon today for recall/rework . Will let you know how it goes.

Well, not as planned. When I booked car in a 3 weeks ago I suggested that, prior to today, I run it over for them to inspect to see if work was required. They assured me that there was no need as the parts would be there anyway, just in case. I dropped car off at 8.00am and received call at 2.00pm to say that my car was ready for collection but needed to be re-booked in as new parts were needed as today was inspection only. Grrr.

I am willing to put this down to a misunderstanding in an "I understood but they didn't" kinda way. They were polite and courtesous and I am tooooo chilled after my 2 week holiday to want to argue, so no harm done. Just 2 hours out of my day :( .

Well got the car back. Nice new shiny wheels :D Brake Servo hose replaced :D ..... but only up to the non return valve :( Garage say they'll get the service manager to phone me tomorrow regarding replacing the last 6 inches of the pipe. Also asked them to investigate a rattle when the dash was off. No mention of it being checked and rattle still there. Bonnet paint chipped where it hits the wiper (if you're not careful!). Little screw on the side of the black passenger side sill missing (do they need to take this off???). I was asked if i wanted the car washed before i got it back (to which i said yes) and they didn't even manage that  Granted these are minor things, but its the little things in life that really annoy me. It would take so little effort to put them right!

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised! Service manager called this morning, apologised profusely for not having replaced the entire hose and agreed to post a foot of hose out to me today. Top result! Also said that they didn't need to take my dash off in the end as the pipe came through no problem, hence the reason that they didn't find/cure my rattle. And with regard to the missing screw from the black sill, this wasn't off either, so it is possible that it is just missing and I hadn't noticed.

Can these screws be bought individually or will VXL charge me £250 for a bag of 6?

I take it all back!

rant Service manager just called back to say that the bit after the NRV is not eligible for a refit!!!!! He said the technical bulletin says that it is only the main section of hose that is effected. When asked why he said that the main section is the only part that is not "ozone resistant!" I explained that the hose is the same either side of the valve and that the piece on mine that hasn't been replaced is also cracked and splitting. He didn't know anything about the hoses collapsing internally. He says he's happy to look at it (70 mile round trip for me!) and then decide if he will replace it. Apparently Vauxhall don't supply enough hose to do the whole thing. rant

I give up! :(

Mine came back from Picador Sholing yesterday and I was very satisfied! thumbsup Top service all round and I would happily take my car there again. I'm lucky I live relatively local! The car was cleaned and the brake pedal hinge and passenger door hinge were greased at my request. Having said that.. Can someone please post or link to a pic of the effected hose? I've had a little look but I'm not sure which hose I need to be looking at. I just need to check if the small section past the non return valve was changed

As far as I am aware this is the hose/valve section in question. You should have a new hose at least up to the ringed valve (from the left) but only some places are replacing the existing pipe to the engine (right side). Mines booked in at Picador tomorrow morning so would be interested to know if they replaced it all.

How long did they take?

Top man, thank you! thumbsup No wonder I couldn't find it! I had a discussion with Chris Power (service manager?) at Sholing Picador before my car went in, and as a result of that I'm confident that they have done it all. I'll check when I have my tea break here and see if that's the case. Ian at Picador has been saying approx. 2 or 3 hours I think. When I booked it in I asked for a loan car so that I could drive into town and not worry about the time. rallly Mine was ready about 3 hours after it went in. They did ask to keep the car overnight though so that they could get a trim piece in to replace an old bit. Not a problem for me as I went back there after work the next day. Car was even nice and clean! thumbsup

The hose from the non-return valve isn't exactly sparkly new looking.. but nor is it cracked or deteriorated..

Had a quick look through the replies here but could not find what I was looking for. My car went in Friday 27th October for the servo pipe and rear wheels. I have just noticed, yesterday, that the passenger side black sill cover now has a kink in the inner edge and it is not sitting as tight to the inside of the bodywork sill as before. The replacement did take longer than they expected, I had also asked them to replace the brake fluid at the same time and they did not manage that and the car had been in all day. Can anyone tell me if the plastic sill cover has to be removed for the servo pipe replacement? I was told by them that they attach the new pipe to the old one and as one person pulls it through another one feeds it in. I am starting to think that maybe the old and ne pipe separated during fitting and that is why the sill cover had to come off?

Had my hose recall done at TMS last week. Took them a couple of hours to do that and an oil/filter change. thumbsup
