I've not driven an E46 M3 but I understand its spaceship quick and extremely refined. My bro' has an E34 M5 and its devastatigly quick, it just gves no sensation of speed whatsoever until its doing 110-120 mph. I really do fail to see the relevance of such a car in Britain unless you drive on the continent a lot. I brick myself every time I drive over 80 in case I'm going to get nicked. VX-es are quick, sure, but they also make you aware of how quickly you're travelling. *sigh* June's an awful long way off !

net team - you state above that the car's on finance - if it is, then the way to reject it is back to the finance house - they will get it sorted. Chris

Damn shame about all this...I brought my vx and the one problem i had was sorted and done within a week.....as said b4 build quality is as hand built....even Aston Martins suffer a whole list of build type problems.....i would seek legal help in getting a new car or refuse to pay the finance and get a solicitor to write a letter as to why......shame though as the motoring experienc of a vx is unparalled we think and you are missing out which is even more painful.

Further update that my be of interest. Met today with Vauxhall customer services representative at local dealer where car now is. I checked car over quickly first wiper still fouls bonnet upon lifting. Went inside to speak to Rep, he said that as far as he, and Vauxhall were concerned the car was fixed, said there wasn't anything they could do about the wiper fouling bonnet, or the seatbelk stalk rubbing the paint off the centre console. Tried arguing with him,but got nowhere, he wants the loan car back by tomorrow night, & for me to take my car away. On the way out drove past their car sales site, X registered VX220 up for sale, stopped to have a look and guess what? You can only lift the wiper a matter of a couple of inches off the windscreen, so it doesn't foul the bonnet!! What a wase of space these people are, there is obviously a wiper are available that has a limited amount of travel, so why are they telling me that they can't do anything? I am sure there is a fix for the seatbelt marking the centre console as well anyone know what this is, so that I can inform the Vauxhall technical centre how to do their job? Regards Chris

I believe the seat belt fix is to just take it off its mounting, turn it round 180 degrees and refit. MK Paul didn't you have this done, or was it someone else? I have the same problem with the wiper and set a poll up on the old Yahoo site, basically it looks like all 2002 spec cars DONT have the little movement limiter fitted, car before the 2002 spec do. Vauxhall trying to make the car cheaper? I would guess so, bloody annoying as it has chipped my bonnet to! Blue to black isn't to noticable, however the lighter colours would be alot easier to spot. Shame the car is so good I don't want it to go in for what I consider a 'little' issue. Chris

I did try to get the seatbelt receptor marking the centre console resolved. I fact it's in at the moment. They replaced the whole console... but with a left hand drive one!!! It's now back in hopefully having the correct one put in plus a new gear knob as they damaged the old one removing the console. I'm not convinced they have cured the problem though - I've tried to explain that just replacing the console is'nt nessesarily going to solve it but these things seem to fall on death ears! How about this for service though. They loaned me a 1.6 Astra. It ran out of petrol 1 mile from the garage before I could get to the nearest petrol station!!! An apology? Don't be silly

mmmmm shame about all this......I was thinking about this today when i had the roof down and had just whupped a Subaru.....yeeehah.....vauxhall service is crap, luck of the draw with these cars just count yourself lucky......i used to have a TVR! now THAT was bad service, after 1 yr 60 recorded faults and 9 returns to the garage totalling circa 2 months outa action, finally i got a refund and a weekend away.....just scared them with a solicitor....do that if you want movement, write to the top bod strongly worded of course....see what happens. Damn shame though as the Suns out! Whooo hooo get DOWN!

Vauxhall say they can't retro fit the wiper arm with the'limiter' to my car say that the fittings are different & so is wiper motor & associated fittings. To make matters worse, they said as a gesture of good will they had touched up all the stone chips on the from of my car, well guess what, they didn't, what they (or the dealer) did do is take a big chip out of the o/s/f wing, just above the bumper, looks like something has driven into it as there is a scuff up the wheel arch, and also scuffed the n/s/r wheel. I think I am loosing the will to live, is this what they do? Grind you down with their incompetence so much that you can't be bothered to complain anymore? On a plus point they have fitted the new header seal,( or rather they say they took it Lotus to have it fitted)with what look like little cups that catch all the drips that may come in from the front corners where the window meets the roof. So far no leaks, and upon my prompting have fitted the bigger door pins so the doors don't rattle anymore.
