As of tonight  the cooling (radiator) fan on Elaine's Na starts as soon as you start the engine up no matter what the engine temp. I've: Checked the relay (not stuck) Reset the ECU (just in case) Checked the connections on the Coolant Temp Sensor (Nice & clean) Which I think really only leaves the Coolant Temp Sensor itself (?). Anybody got any thoughts on this? Cheers Reg :)

This hapened to me and got me worried as the fan and EML came on when the engine was cold. I bought an obd2 user interface of fleabay and downloaded carsoft from t'internet. It told me there was a fault with the MAF meter on the intake pipe, it turned out the wire was bare so i fixed it up cleaned it and clipped it back in. Since resetting the EML its been fine (rushes off to touch some wood) Not sure if this helps or not. Regards, Craig

Bit of an update, EML lit this morning, so I reset the ECU (again). Light not on now, but fan still runs all of the time.

Disconnect the coolant sensor wire. If fan stops, then sensor is cause.

Mine does this from time to time and I just reset the fault code and all is well for months and months, you have a fault code latched up that puts the fans on but not the light, that's how it works for some reason. It is the air sensor. Think mine had done it three times in the last few years. Noisy them fans aren't they

This.  Second lambda returning a lean reading will cause a P1171 code which doesn't light the eml but does trip the fan to run constantly.

Check the code first and check for exhaust leaks before you shell out on a new lambda.

Happened on mine.  I had forgotten to re-connect the Intake temp sensor (grey thing on the intake pipe).  Just a normal N/A too
