Cheers for the reply.This hapened to me and got me worried as the fan and EML came on when the engine was cold.

thanks. The weird thing is that it did it some time ago, then it stopped doing it and then today did it again...

This. Second lambda returning a lean reading will cause a P1171 code which doesn't light the eml but does trip the fan to run constantly.

Congrats on the 8 year thread resurrection
did a search before posting and found this old thread so i said now there must be more experience
So i have to reset the fault and replace the second lambda

Check the code first and check for exhaust leaks before you shell out on a new lambda.

Happened on mine. I had forgotten to re-connect the Intake temp sensor (grey thing on the intake pipe). Just a normal N/A too
