Hi. Guys I am located down here in NZ, and have just aquired an 2003 OPEL Speedster which was originally exported to Japan from the UK. Now i assume (brave i know.!) that the only difference is that some options are not fitted but the wiring loom is the same. My Issue is that i need to fit an alarm and it looks like it was not stanard fitment although it looks like the wiring loom has the plugs. Question 1 - Can any one supply me with a photo of the dashboard area showing the original alarm fitment (so that i can trace which is the correct plug). Question 2 - Again can any one supply me with a photo of the alarm sounder connector that is located under the bonnet, i have looked but can not yet find it's location. Yes - before you all tell me it's easy to fit any alarm, i just would like to not 'cut & shut' any wires and if i can would like to use the original wires / connectors.. Thanks in advance.. chinky chinky

Thanks Guys.. Yes UK to Japan then onto NZ... and it's only got 15,000 Km's on the clock :P I knew the alarm was a Meta and i have already bought a better two way pager system to install, but i want to connect it to the original wiring - so i am trying to locate which connector under the dashboard is the correct socket (i have two spare) and where the connector under the hood (?) is located for the alarm sounder... When you only have those c&ap documents supplied by Vauxhall mistakenly called wiring diagrams to go by, you have no hope in 'ell.... I was just hoping that one of you guys know where they were located and even had a picture of them... As for the build number - i'lll check on it tonight and post it on... Cheers.... Mike.

No worries i'm not going to pinch your car, with the the air fare and freight back here would be out of the question.

I have tracked most the information down from the site now (Thanks guy's) and got a second hand unit coming from the UK as a doner unit... those connectors... :P

All i need is somebody to tell me where that damn alarm sounder is supposed to be located... whispers as to it's location (and the connector) are most welcomed..

Mike..

No photos, but the alarm control box is located behind the CD player. The siren is located on the radiator housing beneath the passenger (left hand) headlight. The connector I think has purple, black and white wires and is a 4 pin plug. There is also a microwave sensor behind the rear bulkhead, behind the bulge you see in between the seats in the black plastic HTH Dan

I'm pretty sure that the Opels have consecutive numbers on their dashes even though there were some VXs built on the line inbetween. For example, whilst my Speedy was number 0811, I think it was build number 1085-ish. So I think in this case, the Speedster number is 4045, but the build number is 5128.
