the only 'extra' tools required would be a piston ring compressor and a torque wrench

pretty much a standard bottom end

join www.z22se.co.uk and have a look in the tuning section, there is a full bottom end strip down

Hmmm not sure this kit will actuallly fit. The chassis runs pretty near the exhaust manifold as is :(

Exactliy my thoughts too... atleast you have to change the angle on the exhaust flange from the turbo... But I very much doubt that it fits anyway, there isn't much room back there even for an exhaust manifold... The engine needs a bit of "wiggle" room too...

I remember dude or badster posting some pics showing a turbo install... can't seem to locate them. Wonder did they have to adjust the chassis rear cross member...

No boot in the badster...

The mani + turbo may not be a problem, just that exhaust flange.....

Thanks vocky thumbsup

Some more info from Honeywell

The turbo itself is upgradeable as the GT2860RS is outline interchangeable with the GT2871R (up to 475 HP capability). There is also the option of turning up the boost on the actuator. As you know, various parts within the Ecotec engine find ways to separate themselves from the rest of the functioning unit once certain horsepower levels are attained. We wanted to make a kit that wouldn’t require someone checking the GM Build Book and swapping internals in order for it to function as a worry-free unit. Upgrade to a GT2871R and you can easily go to 400hp and contact SCT for a custom tuning solution beyond about 300 hp. They have gotten this far with the tuning, I’m sure that they would be happy to help you reach your horsepower goals!

The Hahn racecraft kit is widely respected in the US as being one of the best, if not *the best* turbo conversion for the 2.2 ecotec... thumbsup

I don't trust men with finger nails like that. It might have been a woman but then again I don't trust women with sausage fingers.

Kind regards, Paul
