In prep for the summer next winter, I picked up a hardtop yesterday (thanks Troilism!). Unfortunately (and I kind of expected this) I think I have the early NA roof mounts, so the HT does not attach securely at the rear mounts. :D

Can someone point me to a thread which discusses new style hardtop roof mounts and how to fit them. I've S.E.A.R.C.H.E.D but I cannot find anything. I'm sure this has been done to death numerous times. Sorry.

I am on a '03 NA ('02 build number) with a tubby hardtop. B)

Thanks

:tumble:

...from >here<.

Fitting is easy, unscrew old ones (Torx T30 headed bolt) and screw in new ones using the same screws. They are pretty much the same except the new ones have a lip on the lower edge for the HT to attach to.

I've been to Grimshaws this morning ... and gave the part number SpeedyK posted and they are £15.80 + VAT per side

thumbsup speedyK for the pics...

If anyone is getting these from Lotus, could they get me a pair too. I'll pay for them and postage over here to Belfast (no Lotus dealers left over here). Phil

More on this subject for those that are interested:

>>OLD STYLE ROOF BRACKETS<<

Silly me  , I should have realised, V2VXR is is a VX 'sibling' VIN (3579 vs 3581) and so used to have the same (olde worlde 19th Century) brackets.

I did, my VX production line buddy! :D

I bought new ones from Lotus - I think I posted a message up about it somewhere.

Here it is - Damn they were expensive!

Took a couple of days to arrive and were fitting in less than 5 minutes.

All good. I've updated the wiki, but if anyone wants to extend the entry, feel free.
