I can understand people in subtropical climates asking about aircon. but England? thumbsdown

Is it your only car?

Get stuck in traffic for two hours on one of the hottest days of the year and I think you might change your mind pretty sharpish. But even if not, at the risk of being rude, why should you care what I want in my car? :P

Yep it is the first time I have heard someone called HK a subtropical place.. But hey not really an issue for me.
But I really don't want to see this as one of those thread going out of hand.

The Aircon system may add around less than 50k weight to the car but the comfort that it brings will out weight that issue. At the end of the day, the summer in UK will come soon just wait until it gets to July and Aug and for guys that live in the city. You will know how it feels. Just that I am feeling that everyday.,

True, but it's interesting to see where the thinking is going with regard to air conditioning. I wouldn't mind betting Lotus will replace their airco offering with something based on this technology in the near future - less weight, complexity and cost.

before we have a drinks cooler we need a cup/can holder in a sensible place that can actually be reached during driving!

aren't there portable ac units to plug in the cigarette lighter???!!!
