If you have any interest in mpg then you should not own a VX IMO.

Nah... If you own an RX7 then your shouldn't have any interest in mpg!

For me the mpg of the VX was a factor in the decision to buy one as my only car way back when; if you're driving to work and back every day in it, you need to consider things like that... thumbsup

But driving 1000miles with a 200mile tank is a pain in the arse............ but get the looks every time you stop B)

Im just in the process of building a long range (48lts) all aluminium, foam filled fuel tank for my VXT. I had problems with fuel surge whilst doing a Walshy day so the new tank will have an internal collector installed around the fuel pump, so should solve this problem. thumbsup Will have a much better range too, as its 25% larger than the standard tank. :D

Dont just mention that in conversation!
Make sure when your project starts we are given regular updates etc and of course the end results ;)

Just wondering what has to be moved around to incorporate the new tank, so looking forward to hearing about the development.

260miles from my 1st tank and assumed i was playing fuel gauge roulette as it had been telling me to refill for ages, but when i did i could only just squeeze in 30L! ok that was mainly a very restrained mway drive but am impressed. guess mpg depends on your right foot, the % of urban driving and % of short journies with a cold engine

I would love to go into more detail, but have to try to respect the comercial use policy. Last time i posted this kind of info i got a bit of a bollocking from JT, which was fair enough.

I'm not quite sure what is acceptable to say, but this is something which i am building for my own car which needs to be finished by the end of next week as i am at Abberville next weekend. Once its finished and tested i will let anyone who's interested know how it goes. Not quite sure how i go about that, as i really dont want to cause any agro again. :( Maybe someone, or admin could advise on this. thumbsup

Fair play mate thumbsup

Well i'm interested to know the outcome (as i do alot of euro-touring) but understand the predictament.
Like you said once you've tested it would be great to "hear" about it, and of course you can PM me the details if things get :flame: ;)
Also could it possibly retro fit an NA??

Ok, let me see. Have the stats from the beginning that I got the car up till eind of 2006: Distance driven: 68876Km Total fuel used: 5561.71L So that would mean 8.08L/100km or if I convert it to UK mpg then that would be 34.96mpg Not too bad if you reccon that is including all trackdays.. Mark
