from what i can tell. the green tipped hose on the inlet manifold (just after the induction kit) un plugs that plug is then plugged in to a port that is covered with a rubber gromit on the throttlebody??? the rubber gromet from the throttle body is then used to cover the hole in the inlet manifold that the green plug came from. can you do a pic of what hole in the throttle body its suposed to go to. cheers ali.

Thats what I'm stuck on; where the place to plug the hose in on the inlet manifold is... Why am I stuck at work when I want to be fiddling with the car

Can anyone tell me the part no. for the longer vectra hose? I went to the Vauxhall dealer and they couldn't find the part despite me showing them the hose in my car and asking for the vectra version. Thanks!

Just ordered the Vectra B z22se Vacuum Hose. Cost £6.50ish. Will let you al know if its long enough when it comes next week. Had a barney with the parts guy was telling me it was the same length as the VX one because the diagram was the same for both cars. He didn't want to understand that maybe Vauxhall used the same diagram because it was easier for them and that possibly the VX hose was shorter than the diagram indicated. Well, we'll see in a few days.

Well I do have a 4 year old niece I could dangle over the engine bay. Maybe she can give the ITG a clean while she is there :P

 It all starts going wrong when you ask her to tug the nipple though

:P

Seriously, getting the nipple off was such a pita! You cant get a finger either side of it, and pliers or similar dont fit down the gap properly, I only just managed to pull it off without dropping it down into the abyss...

It still only took about 20 mins, but be prepared to loose some skin

So have you noticed a difference yet Andy? Im still amazed at how much quicker getting rid of the precat has made my NA feel. Must get round to this one soon.....

I havent got the part no. but if you print this diagram off and ask for part 36 from the Z22SE Vectra B, they should come up with the goods. Mine had to be ordered in. The pipe isnt straight like Vocky's one; its stepped, but still reaches fine. If anything the step moves it away fom the engine, which obviously, gets very hot.

Im expecting differences to start appearing as the ECU does its thing, but I have noticed one major difference; when lifting off the throttle at low engine speed, (ie 2krpm) I used to experience juddering, which I can only imagine was lack of fuel? Now, lifting off in the same situation, the engine smoothly drops in rpm, rather than juddering. In general, everything in lower revs seems a lot smoother.

Oh yeah, and my sports exhaust pops a bit more at low rpm when lifting off :groupjump:

I swapped mine a few days ago, and have got through 3 tanks of fuel so the ECU should be set up now... My VX is mosty standard: removed pre-cat, and airbox derestricted. my impressions are mixed really... bad: The engine seems less happy - it doesn't start as easily as it did before, and i stalled it for the first time in a year  (while pulling away from my house) I have definitely lost power all over the rev range (probably due to the lack of an induction kit, but i don't believe that would help low-down torque) WOT at very low revs seems to result in something that sounds like pinking good: The 3k rpm dip in power is gone My MPG has raised massively - my drive to the gf this weekend meant i got 37 mpg!! Usually i'd be looking at 32 MPG I get a nice burble on lift-off (i'm hoping this isn't too bad for the cat...) The engine seems a little more responsive I'll probably be either getting an induction kit or going back to std though - i nearly got out-accelerated by a 4x4. Has anyone tried just leaving the FPR connected to nothing?

What is pinking and how can you tell its happening?

I have only had good results so far, everything above about 3krpm is the same, and below is smoother and more responsive. Pulling away is smoother (I can use less throttle too), idling is smoother. I get the same pull in 3rd at 30mph that I used to have to go to 2nd for. But then again, I do have an ITG...

Is it possible that you aren't getting enough oxygen and too much fuel?

It's engine knocking and you can hear it (hence the name).
