Vocky is going one with a Vectra box. It seems to involve quite a bit of work though.

I assume there is a reason the Vocky didn't use the Astra box though - but no idea what it is!

Vocky is doing the vectra box because his engine is a Vectra engine, Z22SE. Turbo is an Astra engine Z20LET. Don't know if it would work tho.

yes you can fit a six speed box to the vxT you need a M32 gearbox from a z20lel / z20ler / z20leh vehicle - either an Astra H or late model Zafira you will also require; driveshafts (£250 each) and a rear gearbox mounting (£140) from a 2007 Lotus Europa S a 'one off' clutch plate (£310 for an uprated kevlar clutch plate + cover) and the slave cylinder needs a spacer because the DMF (dual mass flywheel) is deeper than a solid flywheel OR you could just fit a DMF flywheel + clutch. the gear linkage needs modifying or you could buy the Lotus Europa S system for a mere £1100  not an easy conversion, but quite fun

you should be able to use the astra H z20lel or z20ler (sri turbo) driveshafts, but the z20leh (vxr) do not fit. or just buy some new lotus europa S driveshafts
