Hi, got mine too. There is 40 clicks available to setup. Setting it midway is way too crashy for the road. It is now at 10 clicks from softer side. I have also heard but it is not mentioned by Gaz to do a ~200 miles breakin with the shocks at the softer setting. If someone has an opinion ?

I think mine are at 8 clicks, they were fitted and set up by Gaz at their factory and they didn't mention running them at full soft

I can't comment - mine aren't fitted yet as I won't try a DIY job unless someone wants to do them for me for a few beers ;) I will be chatting to where ever I take her sometime soon with regard a suitable setting for the driving I do. I'm only just learning about this kind of stuff, so any info you guys throw into play is all good for me. Then I can learn what works and what doesn't. :)

Mine arrived over the new year so I was in no fit state to fit them! The sun was out this morning when I got up so I thought I'd attack it today... ...all in all the job took about two hours using a low profile jack, even that was not low enough when the new shocks were on, had to use several blocks of wood under the wheels just to get it out! didn't realise quite how much lower it would be with them on! Gotta love the look of it now, much more agressive, feels good on the road too! I've set them quite soft for a while to see how the run in, first run out I had them on one click off fully soft, it was well funny, like driving my freelander! now set on 6 off soft. I had set the spring compression ring so it sat 70mm from the bottom of the shock body. seemed like a good starting point, I'll see how it goes. Also took the time to replace my coolant tank, fit a carbon protector for it and I also fitted a rear tow hook, think I'll get another one though, two would even out the pull. So, quite a productive morning! no photos I'am afraid, pick up a new hardtop tommorrow to go with the coupepart I'm waiting for from B.A.D, then i'll post some. B)

Bloody 'ell - I think mine is around 110mm, it must be low!

Can't wait to see the pics :)

Now that sounds nice!! Have been thinking about this for a while.

How much is it if you dont mind me asking? And will it have any vent holes like the exige cover?

Put them on my (ex) Westfield last year. Of the 40 clicks I used about 4 on the front and 2 on the back for the road. Car was only 600kg or so though so I can imagine VX's being in the 8-10 range. I used 8F, 4R IIRC on track. It needed all the help it could to keep the back end from following the front

Just about to put mine on (outside and it's raining) wish me luck, thought I would put the spitfire bits on while I am there. I saw Techieboy was arround today so will keep him in mind if it all goes wrong as he lives not far :D

This thread is perfect timing.

I was going to have a go at fitting mine over the weekend (weather permitting) - can you let me know how far you wind the black turney thing on the thread (technical description! :D) for the ride height and whether you are running a 16"/17" combo?

I've literally just come off the phone to Gaz and they recommended 10 clicks of the damper at the front and 20 at the back - does that sound right?

Finally, am I correct in thinking that the dial has to be at the top, rather than the bottom?

I have just come in to sort the ride height out , are people messuring to the wheel arch centre or underside somewhere on the body. I am measuring the hight left between the adjuster and top of the spring black turnet thing :D You need to adjust the dial/spring height before you put them on the front anyway as you can't get in there otherwise. also the dampaner key.will try 10/20 from full soft and see what happens.

SHOUT :D Feel free to come around any time Matt cup of tea awaiting and any ideas greatfully received.

I thought ride height was set from somewhere at the end of the chassis to the ground but don't know precisely where.

I always used to measure from the chasis to the ground, immediately behind the front wheel and immediately in front of the rear wheel. IIRC, that's where most of the measurements are taken from WRT the Elise/340R/etc settings too.

Got VERY wet but have it sorted, Thanks Techieboy those heights you gave me helped. chinky chinky Little more height on the front I think as there are too many speed bumps where I live. The change over was fairly easy, Need to try different rebound settings. The rears aren't right yet they seem to rumble over the road, the best way to describe it at the moment. I have 325/400 with 10/20 from soft set up Will try different combinations and see what works best. Down side need a new Jack mine doesn't go low enough to get under the car. :beat: and missed the deal at Cosco. The old shocks were corroding ( ection above the spring)like made, they were flaking away and only 6 years old. worth a check if you have an old car. Tie rods in the morning I think

Look at that, it's almost sunny outside now. :( I think +10mm on the front would be wise. The splitters looked very low to me. Did the suspension settle any further after the test drive? Maybe wind the rears back to +10 clicks from softest and adjust from there? The visit to Daventry on Tuesday morning will probably help as well.
