I notice the straps are over the paintwork, what material are they and is there a scratching hazard?

Not noticed any, no. To be fair i'd hope they thought about that when designing the covers, as it would be an obvious problem.

I'll probably just take the aerial off as the stereo is a pointless addition to the car IMHO. Wish the first owner had invested that £300 in a VSE or even central locking ...

Just to clarify, there is no hole so i unscrew the aerial. It hasn't been on for a while anyway as the radio is crap and the VSE is too loud anyway!

Know what you mean with the central locking... it's OK in the summer but running around the car to unlock both door when it's pissing it down is a PITA! :tt:

One week later and it's still in the garage  Wonder what my chances are of keeping it there?

I like the look of the 'Mafe' one, but can't see how it's fastened down at the back

I have the 'Elemental' one (which doesn't cover the engine bay) - it's been great, but can flap around a bit if it's windy - so a larger cover must be worse!

No scratch hazard with the Elemental as it's made of very light weight material :)

The Mafe cover has a long elasticated adjustable strap that fits under the rear engine cover avioding scratch damage and keeping the cover secure. The cover cannot be removed without access to the car.

The Elemental cover is doing a grand job for me. It's just the right size and saves loads of time in the frosty mornings. It is easy enough to put on and off that I actually bother, which I haven't always done with bigger covers on previous cars. I also put the cover back on when I get to work (assuming its not raining) so that it dries off for use the following night (otherwise you can get the previous days damp on the inside of the cover and directly on your screen!) If I were bying now, I'd still go for the Elemental.
