Totally off topic but WTF is it that whenever Thorney's name pops up in a thread it brings all the sad old fu*ks from 116 out of the woodwork?? I'm not one for taking sides but why don't you tw*ts do us all a favour and just fu*k off back under that slimy little rock where you belong. :poke:

Before anyone tries to designate me as a "lover" or "hater" then I'll tell you I'm neither, don't know the bloke (either of them.).

So because i frequent 116 djegiant im a twat am i, thats a very scathing remark to make to the 680 odd registered members over there.

Cheers for that :angry2:

I have no idea who is right in this and it looks like the courts will decide, but if this forum is truely open then people must be allowed an opinion all the tuners have at one stage or another used this forum to promote their services and products and they must expect that if something goes wrong that the forum can also be used to point out these mistakes 'live by the sword, die by the sword' It is easy to say that some members have an axe to grind and it is just as easy for those members to tell the newer members they don't know all the facts. Some people have had great service at TMS and some haven't, if I had spent the money Andrew has and my car was not right then I would be hitting the roof by now, but if I had been told that it could take that long then I would not be hitting the roof. I suppose what I am trying to say is people should be able to post freely on the forum without being called names (yes I have done it before, and felt like a prize prick) I actually agree with Paul, this forum should be independant the time has come

I see that things have again reduced to "censorship" of which websites people are "allowed" to frequent. Since when have people no longer been welcome here because they frequent one (or maybe more - no definitive list has been published so far as I am aware...) other website(s)? Have you any proposals for how we might submit a list of any other sites we might happen to peruse for "approval"? Back on topic (because at the end of the day, we're here to talk about stupid little plastic cars): I hope VXR36 is back on the road and in full mechanical health as soon as possible and with minimum fuss.

The rad went when the car was having its MOT at the MOT station.....a fact you well know, but of course thats our fault too.

sorry why is that your fault mate or have i missed somthing

ps. thanks for the exhaust need to get round to fitting it now thumbsup

I think you will find John was being sarcastic, the standard rads have crappy plastic end caps that are known to fail during MOT. (if yours goes then get a uprated ally one)

And anyway most of us sad old fukers actually post here as much as over there so you of only 2000 or so posts p*ss off and stop slagging off those of us who have been around a while longer and know a thing or two and don't talk out of our arses..

:poke:

Wow, well impressed, you MUST know what you are talking about then.

It's threads like this that make the VX220 community as a whole look like vultures.

I have no affiliation with any tuners or companies apart from possibly buying parts from them.

But what pisses me off is the fact that it only takes one person to say:

"Oh xxxx is a cunt because he broke my car / charged me too much / stole my removed parts / desecrated my car"

and everyone jumps on the bandwagon with their little dig, either based on the biased previous posts, or their "'issues'

If you really have a problem, speak to the other person, get it sorted. If they aren't helping take them to court and get a judgement.

I was trying to keep out of this one as I know I am percieved to be a Thorney basher although I haven't really used Thorneys services (apart from a ride to Le Mans in his BMW when I wrote my VX off on route thumbsup ) or made any comments against him personally.

So all you have done is confirm what Silent 1 has stated. As it happens, I believe Silent1 is correct (in the main) too.

I have sympathy with VXR36 (and JT), but fcuk me, where do all these people come from that suddenly have an opinion.

By his own admission above, P11COV has only ever been helped by Thorney but still feels the need to fuel the fire. Maybe instead of trying to keep out, you just keep out.

You are exactly what is wrong with this country, not a teacher as well are you?

G

Hey now thats the Gerry we know and love back! I reckon that 'Gerry' over on type 116 (the born again nice one) is an imposter

anyway...I did not add any 'fuel to the fire'...not one comment about the situation between 'VXR 36 and Mr Thorne' and whilst its tempting to crawl down to your level and start firing personal insults I'll try and be a little more mature just give you a big :grouphug:

That is so funny, I nearly spilt my coffee. You were the very first one to start the firing of personal insults at another member (read your post back again). Perhaps your memory is not what it once was.
And you will also see that I have not insulted anyone on this thread. Reading through the posts/comments, I think this one is backfiring on you old boy and it might be time to stop whilst you are behind.

I would love to see some maturity from you, well done.

The problem is my friend if you care to read 116 you will find that it consists pretty much of people slagginig off TMS, John or the people on THIS website....but then when it suits i.e. something has gone wrong @ TMS they come trotting back....just to cause problems. It was a site set uo for people to whinge on....rather like a virtual knitting circle if you will.....

If they dont like TMS or John then dont go there but they have nothing else to do than Thorney bash. I bet they couldnt go 1 week with mentioning his name! Which is bordering on stalking!

Hopefully the following will be a worthwhile contribution…… Keyboard warriors there may be, it is the keyboard lawyers that worry me. I have travelled in the opposite direction to John, from garage proprietor to lawyer, so do know what I am talking about (some of the time). Firstly, there are some gross inaccuracies. Crimson Killa’s aggressive post regarding breaches (sorry, should that be ‘brake’ FFS) of the DPA misinterprets the law. Anyway to get to the point, here is what you should do if you are dissatisfied with any service; 1, Write (and I mean a letter, not email) setting out your grievances. Keep it factual, set out the full history, what you understood you were to receive, when and at what cost. Set out what you understand has actually happened and why you are not happy. 2, State you will allow the other party a certain period of time for them to complete the job and resolve your grievances (this has to be sufficient for them to finish the work). 3, If you remain dissatisfied with the job when it is complete, obtain an experts report. Who will be an ‘expert’ for these purposes is not easy. Relating to the current dispute, Plans are mere fitters, who have no history of remapping. They are not experts. Courtenay and Klasen possible are. 4, That report must be disclosed to the other party. He can then take remedial action as necessary. If you fail to agree along the way, then it is off to court. From the information in the thread, both parties need to do one thing. John must issue a full invoice for the sum he claims is outstanding. If part invoices have already been issued, then a final invoice with a separate breakdown of the work carried out. Andrew must disclose Courtenay’s report to John. There is no logical reason not to do this. These matters can be resolved in court. Mediation is a less adversarial option and I would consider mediating this dispute if both parties agreed.

Andrew must disclose Courtenay’s report to John. There is no logical reason not to do this.

What if said report were to contain some kind of trade secret, or indeed set out how to put right the issues?

Say, the map had points A,B and C in the wrong place, and the report said that in order to correct the map and provide most power, point D also needs to be added at x,y.
This could potentially harm Courtenaysport by giving away (to the competition) the added knowledge they have.

Does that make sense? I know what I'm trying to say, but not sure if it is articulated very well there! :)

Oh, and as for being a moderator on here, I've tried to steer clear of the thread for being accuesed of taking sides. I'm certainly not on any side and indeed, don't wish to be badged as such. I could well have locked, removed thread before John was able to post, but felt for the good of the forum, poster, etc I left well alone.

Where did I say spiggot rings are dangerous? All I've said is that the supplier of the wheels does not recommend spigot ring wheels on track, thats all. Remember if I supply a set of wheels I'm bound by the sale of goods act, I have to pass this kind of information on.

Im sorry but you are only bound by the sale of goods act when you are selling the product.

The debate in question was about another company selling wheels with spiggot rings, there was no comment required but you came on and gave your 2p worth by stating that spiggot rings are dangerous and should not be used. After somone questioned your reasoning on this you then said you have been told by the manufacturer and and in respect to track work.

IE dont buy his unsafe ones - buy mine that I have a monopoly on.

(Yes i use the work monopoly as i have tried various channels to buy the "proper" wheels and always get told that TMS is the only distributor for these wheels at whatever price they wany to set....)

oh and if im aggressive so be it thats just me but i for one dont like the idea that just because someone has channeled their time and money into a company set up on the backbone of an "owners club" that i should bend over and take it in the ass!!!

What an embarrassing read. First of all, we get a girl's gossip magazine style teaser introduction and now an 8 page argument about it! For the good of the forum, you guys should be talking to each other or leaving this to your solicitors, not having a internet chat war. For the love of god, lock the bloody thread!
