One idea, can those replacement clams somehow be made from smaller panels that can be assembled together? That will solve the storage and transportation problems.

Yes, but even so I think either clam will fit in nothing less than a large van and too large and fragile to be couriered so I'm not sure you'd gain much from that.

I'm still pursuing this. Have a contact now with a company who have a contract to make glassfibre parts for Lotus themselves. And already is also making shells for 340r's for a company who hires them out for track days. Pursuing viability of the venture.

Just a thought has anyone attempted sourcing the old clams, and doors, that have been replaced by vaux?? I know these may have bubbling issues, but if it was a choice of a smashed clam, and a couple of paint chips i know what i would choose! You might get hold of them for next to nothing, as all they will be doing is taking up space!

They should be destroyed, in any case you're pretty buggered if you buy one like I did and then it bubbles after it has been painted!

I believe Thorney tried to source them for the race cars but wasn't even allowed to do that.

I know someone who could produce fibreglass clams. He'd need a "spare" front and rear to make the mould. Don't know what the price would be but I said I'd asked to see how many he could sell and what sort of price would be acceptable.

So any more news on these or anything to update? Am very interested to see the end results, price, lead time and fitting on these clams as im crapping myself about buying an 03/04 tubby and having bubbling issues after keeping her outside for the whole year.

Thanks, Chris.
