It's a shared day and it would be good to fill all the LoT slots with VX's! :P  I thoroughly recommend a training session for Castle Combe if you don't want to stuff it at Quarry! chinky chinky

Sorry VIX, just saw your PM about this for some reason my notifications from the site are getting delayed and dumped at the moment. Need to check the diary as it's a Monday and to see whether my ego can live with being the most underpowered car there. :( A34 and M4 at Swindon on a Monday morning could be interesting!! You're right about Quarry though. Nearly got wiped out in my quattro there last year when some loon in 2 ton Audi S8 lost it in front of me. Somehow he managed to not hit any barriers

So it looks like I'm definitely going up on Sunday pm then. There's a Premier Inn at Chippenham close by. I would be good if you can make it too. thumbsup

Was about to say that I'm hoping to be able to join you but can't commit yet (for various reasons). But having seen that lot I think I've just dicovered that I'm doing something else that day.....

Absolutely. The guy and his son arrived on the Friday night absolutely frozen through despite 5 layers of clothing - they didn't trailer it! thumbsup

Hi Guy's, I'm just trying to swap a trackday already booked with LOT at Brands Hatch on the same day with the one they are holding at Castle Coombe on the 28th April. I've never been to Castle Coombe before, but it may be fun to have a session with a number of other VX's. I've got another 10 track dates booked so far this year. It would be nice to have a open trackday list so that everyone can see who's tracking & where? MAXR

My dad's got a replica D-type (built 1971) and I can quite imagine the fun they must have had - its a replica if it was original you're looking at a minimum of £1,000,000 if it has le man history that will probably set you back close to £3,000,000 and the actual D-type that won le man priceless.

My dad's D-type is quite lively to drive, by modern day standards the brakes are terrible, the engine over heats in traffic, the drivetrain is very tricky ( lots of double declutching) oh the handbrake doesn't work and the carbs came complete without a choke. So when the road opens out and you press the accelerater yep there's no place else I'd rather be, a fanatastic car and very fast (300 bhp and weighs 800kgs) and yes my VXT in a straight line couldn't catch it, corners thanks to modern brakes and suspension it's all over it, but the gearing on the D-type will pull it to around 170 mph. In 1956 the D-types were doing 190mph along the Mulsanne straight - now that's brave.

Not much to do with the topic but the D-type is such a great car even the replicas

Cheers
Ian
