Yep that was guys pic... Im still not 100% :( this bug has really taken it out of me! :gayfight:

I might go into the garage later and take a pic..

I just dont want to put everything back together, clam on etc, to find it has to come of again...

When doing the 3 screws up at the front of the car on the rad housing, had to put pressure on the panel to get the screws in, then the ones which sit accross the back (master cyl side etc) again you have to put your weight on it to get things to line up.. If i ever went for a supercharger conversion (watch this space ;) ) i dont see how i could fit the pro alloy pre rad in??

Ive done a little bit more this afternoon... i braved the cold and wind.. still not feeling 100% :( I removed the V on the clam and repainted the mesh, i used some black hammerite aerosol, looks much better now.. none of the screws were rusted so that was straight foward. Ground out the remaining jacknuts on the clam and refitted some new ones thumbsup Then put back together the passenger side wheel arch lineing.. I took everyting of to sort out the wiring for the new horn / relay... The original fixings underneath are Rawlnuts (they are crap!) so i have replaced everything in stainless, some decent quality plastic washers and nyloc nuts, looks much better and will be a doddle to remove in the future. I have taken some pics of the rad housing with my phone so will upload at work tomorrow ( i think my data cable is there...) All thats left to do now is tackle the bolt below the door hinge.. then its clam back on! Have to say ive enjoyed doing this, and feel quite proud!! Cheers Nick chinky chinky

did you leave the foam on ? mine hasn't the foam, sits flush, seeing as how the rad bolts to the rad housing i don't see it as a problem - so maybe remove that ?

Im frozen!! Just got in from the garage.. everything has gone to plan tonight!! :) Job tonight was to remove the drivers side sill cover which will enable me to get to the seized bolt, this took all of 10mins to do... i removed all the double sided tape which was left on the car and cleaned up with tar and glue remover then went over it with meths.. next job was to remove the seized bolt.. i used my dremel with a big heavy duty cut of disk on it, took my time with this as i didnt want to catch the bodywork. Once the head was of the bolt fell into the car so just used my magnetic pen to pic that up. The captive nut ive reused, cleaned it up etc and ran some bolts through it and its fine, it has a big surface area so i s ideal for re sticking in position. I mixed up some JB weld and put it on to the nut, then pushed it into position from underneath (i had a bolt screwed into it..) once in postion i carefully unscrewed the bolt then inserted it from the top with copper grease on it then pulled it all up so as to get a really good bond with the sill... this worked a treat... carefully removed the bolt and made sure the thread was clear.... just going to leave it now for a few days so it goes of rock hard... All thats left to do now is refit the clam!!! (just hope it all lines up ok) Cheers Nick chinky chinky

Guy,

Just ended up bolting it all back together and it fitted a treat.. thumbsup

I just thought with the extra height it may throw everything out of align.. but thinking about it when you put the clam on it, it will sit on there correctly as there are some fixings from that crash box which go through the clam aswell just near bonnet hinges.. thumbsup So all that worry was for nothing..

Hope that helps! thumbsup

Cheers
